Jan Jagran Sansthan (JJS) is a grassroots non-governmental organization established in 1984, working towards building a just and equitable society. The organization focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable communities, especially women and children, through community participation, awareness, and collaboration with government systems.

About the Project
Bonded labour continues to persist in Bihar, where communities—due to poverty, migration, dependence on informal labour, debt, and social factors—are vulnerable to situations of bonded labour. Jan Jagran Sansthan (JJS) is implementing an intervention to address bonded labour in Nawada and Jamui districts.

Position: Project Manager
Location: Nawada & Jamui Districts, Bihar

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage overall project implementation across target areas
• Develop monthly and quarterly implementation plans
• Supervise and support field team (Field Investigators, Aftercare Support Person)
• Ensure timely execution of activities as per project plan
• Coordinate with district administration, Labour Department, and other stakeholders
• Monitor progress against targets and ensure quality of implementation
• Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and data management
• Facilitate review meetings and provide guidance to team members
• Support identification, rescue coordination, and rehabilitation processes
• Ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience in project management in development sector
• Experience in working on labour rights / child protection / community-based programs
• Experience in coordination with government departments and stakeholders
• Good understanding of bonded labour issues or similar social issues
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Strong communication and coordination abilities

Qualification
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work / Social Sciences / Development Studies or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in project management

Additional Requirements
• Willingness to relocate and work in Project districts
• Willingness to travel regularly across project locations
• Ability to work in field-based conditions and manage multiple responsibilities

Role Significance
The Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring effective implementation of the project, coordination with stakeholders, and achievement of project objectives within the defined timeline.
