About the Organization
Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) is a renowned NGO working for the development and empowerment of underserved communities in Jharkhand and Bihar for over five decades.
In 2021, NBJK established the Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital in Deoghar, Jharkhand, which is one of the four charitable eye hospitals run by the organization. The hospital provides affordable and quality eye care services including cataract surgeries, other eye surgeries, provision of spectacles, and community-based eye health services. NBJK also organises eye screening camps in remote villages and operates Vision Centres at block levels to identify and support persons with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities
As the Programme Manager, you will:
• Manage eye screening camps, door-to-door eye screening activities, and Vision Centres operated by NBJK across Deoghar and Giridih districts of Jharkhand, and Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar. Additional districts may be added in future.
• Ensure Vision Centres are operationally sustainable and meeting the patient and revenue targets.
• Undertake regular field visits (10–15 days per month) to monitor and support grassroots activities.
• Liaise with government officials and build strong networks with ASHAs, healthcare institutions, Ashrams, clubs, community leaders, and volunteers for organising eye camps and patient referrals.
• Ensure timely achievement of free and paid surgery targets.
• Prepare programme budgets, reports, and documentation.
• Provide operational and programme support to the Hospital Manager/ Director.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Postgraduate degree in management, social work, public health, hospital administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in eye health or healthcare delivery programmes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively in rural areas by bike.
Job Location: Deoghar, Jharkhand
Salary Range: Negotiable, based on experience and current package.
