Purpose: To support the management of SEI India as technical adviser in all aspects of the programme for health for the poorest, as well as for the whole organisation, in line with the strategy, vision and mission of SEI India and Switzerland in accordance with its values and principles.
Roles and responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to adapt and adopt FAIRMED’s policies and strategy to the context:
• Support the design and development of the programme portfolio of SEI India in line with the strategy and programme of SEI India and Switzerland.
• Support the mainstreaming of SEI cross-cutting issues and principles
• Support the regular conduct of analysis of the socio-economic and health context.
• Support the regular conduct of analysis of health and social challenges and needs in relation to the objectives of the SEI strategy.
Provide technical expertise to support the quality of the SEI/FM India programme :
• Support the development of the SEI India strategy/direction in alignment with and in contribution to the achievement of the strategy of FAIRMED Switzerland.
• Support quality and timely planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the SEI India Programme (finance and narrative) in accordance with SEI Project Cycle Management (PCM) tools and principles in line with donor requirements and international standards.
• Provide input on all technical components of programming related to the SEI India programme.
• Act as the focal person for Log Alto/LNOB and HIS/TIS and other portals from other donor agencies.
• Mentor Dy. Dirctor, Program manager Chhattishgarh state, and the other technical staffs.
• Contribute to SEI’s knowledge management and learning.
• Document the good practices and learnings of SEI program initiatives
• Provide historical information of the organisation and provide support to problem solving in case any matter appears with regards to past activities
• Increase the visibility of SEI’s expertise and successes through contributing to scientific articles based on projects results.
Contribute to increase the fundraising portfolio and the income of SEI India in India:
• Provide support to create new financing opportunities from donors located in India along with seeking funds from other funding organizations as well as from corporates.
• Contribute to explore new avenues for co-financing partnerships within the scope of the SEI India programme and the SEI India strategy towards various donors such as the Global Fund, European Union, The World Bank, and WHO.
• Support the development of project proposals as per donor requirements.
Contribute to the management of partnerships and portfolio development:
• Responsible to co-ordination leprosy programs of Haryana and Union Territory (UT) of Chandigarh.
• Support proactive engagement with current and potential project partners.
• Support the technical communication and networking with the NGO partners, government bodies and with other stakeholders in the field of leprosy, disability prevention and community-based rehabilitation and community health activities that are relevant for SEI.
• Support the Deputy Director in the management of partners at operational level, for knowledge management and exchange, at policy dialogue level and at advocacy level
• Support the search for new collaborative partners considering the SEI/FAIRMED strategy.
Provide support to Human Resource Management :
• Support capacity development of project managers and other SEI India staff, as well as of project partners (NGOs and Government).
• Contribute to a positive team spirit, trust, and a safe working environment.
• Provide support to ensure respect, compliance and adherence to the SEI/FM India and FM Switzerland guidelines, regulations, and policies, such as the Anti-Corruption Guideline, the Code of Conduct or the regulations on Prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH) of FAIRMED amongst others with regards to the program team, partners, vendors and collaborators.
• Provide support to ensure the awareness and sensitization of beneficiaries of the above-mentioned guidelines, regulations and policies.
Support the Executive Director in representing SEI India at national and global level :
• Support the Executive Director in liaising with the Government especially the Ministries, the WHO, non-governmental organizations, as well as bilateral and multilateral donors at National and at State level.
• Support the Executive Director in engaging with and maintaining good relationships with the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) and other relevant national government programmes and contribute to the close collaboration with these entities.
• Contribute to strengthening the organisation’s visibility and reputation through networking and participation in national, regional, and international fora.
• Contribute to strengthen the network of relevant public health and international development cooperation actors, including ILEP India, and facilitate contacts for other SEI/FM staff.
Additional roles and responsibilities:
• Coordinate with Deputy Director and Executive Director SEI/ FM India to resolve country specific technical issues.
• Provide support and advice to the Executive Director on request for any other matter related to strengthening the accountability and financial and operational sustainability of SEI/FAIRMED India’s work.
Qualifications profile:
Education:
Master’s degree in public health, International Development, or related field
Further professional development: Sound practical experience in Project Cycle Management of health projects, including financial management and human resource management
Work experience:
Senior management or coordination position within NGO in India
