Applications for the position of Program Officer (only for female) Location: Lucknow We are looking for a Program officer! HUMSAFAR is a Lucknow-based support center for women, youth, and queer persons in crisis to ensure a holistic response to discrimination and violence across the sexual spectrum based on gender, religion, caste, disability, sexuality, & class. Job Status: Full Time, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with survivors of gender-based violence. Counsel the survivors and caregivers to cope with mental health trauma.
* Support survivors to get mental health support at the center.
* Support survivors to access justice and follow up with government officials, police, etc., to ensure survivors get entitlements and other necessary benefits.
* Work with women, youth, and queer persons in the communities of Lucknow on gender-based discrimination, violence, and mental health.
* Collaborate and keep in touch with necessary stakeholders.
* Travel for necessary support and program implementation.
* Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to organizational initiatives; provide inputs and support for organizational development, among other activities, and uphold the organizational values, mission, and vision.
* Conceptualize, develop content, coordinate, and conduct training/meetings/capacity buildings (offline and online).
* Develop collaborative initiatives for advocacy, identifying ways to strengthen proposed initiatives and support their successful development.
* Identify opportunities and develop proposals, and concept notes for funders.

Necessary skills:
* Comprehensive understanding of gender, mental health, gender-based discrimination and violence, and related women's rights issues.
* Excellent writing and communication skills in Hindi and English for documentation & and communication with different stakeholders.
* Should be an ally to the queer community.
* Should be flexible with timing.
* Committed to grassroots work.
* Team player, Hardworking, self-motivated, good time management skills, good counseling skills implemented with empathy, sensitivity, a non-judgmental approach, and boundaries.
* Self-reflective and open to feedback.
* Ability to multitask and manage different individual, team, and organizational requirements.

Eligibility: Academic: Post-graduation (preferably in related subjects such as mental health, social work, gender studies, disability studies or any social science subjects)

Work experience: Minimum two years of full-time work experience (preferably in related fields within the social or development sector)
