About the Schools Program:
Since launching in 2019, the program has directly reached over 4L+ learners in 20,000 schools, influencing computational thinking across Schools of Excellence (SOE) in Gujarat.
Role Overview:
The Program Officer for Gujarat will be responsible for supporting district and state-level implementation across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Narmada, Dahod, Panchmahal and Bhavnagar districts, ensuring smooth delivery of program outcomes aligned with state and donor commitments. The role involves strengthening Computational Thinking practices through Intermediate Ideathon and Hackathon initiatives, building relationships with district and block-level stakeholders, supporting school-level implementation, and fostering effective coordination across teams and partners.
Role & Responsibilities
- Facilitate learner engagement in Ideathon and Hackathon processes to strengthen future skills across demonstration and implementation schools through Master Trainers and educator networks
- Support teachers and students in implementing project-based learning processes and classroom content across implementation schools within assigned districts
- Contribute to innovation pilots and school-based experiments
- Plan and coordinate district-level events such as Ideathons, Hackathons, showcases, and review meetings
- Liaise with government officials, headmasters, and school resource personnel to support smooth implementation and review processes
- Integrate the program approach into existing school systems and strengthen ownership among school stakeholders
- Support and strengthen Master Trainer networks across assigned districts to enable scale and sustainability
- Take ownership of Computational Thinking implementation within assigned districts
- Sustain teacher-led adoption by creating enabling conditions within district and state education ecosystems
- Co-create sustainability and scale-up roadmaps with Quest Alliance and district stakeholders
- Ensure teacher learnings and field insights are documented and integrated into reporting and handover processes
- Collect and synthesize feedback from teachers, schools, and events to support program analysis and improvement
- Ensure timely documentation of case studies, photographs, videos, and implementation stories for reporting and communications
- Use M&E tools and dashboards to track implementation progress and ensure alignment with program goals
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, travel schedules, and cross-district coordination effectively
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in any discipline (preferably Social Work, Development Studies, Education, Gender Studies, Rural Development, or related fields)
- 2–3 years of work experience, preferably in the education or development sector
- Experience working with schools, government stakeholders, or district-level implementation programs will be preferred
- Exposure to STEM, innovation, career exploration, or future skills programs is desirable
Technical & Functional Skills
- Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Education Department, schools, and community actors
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to create engaging learning experiences for educators and learners
- Basic understanding of program implementation, reporting, documentation, and data tracking processes
- Familiarity with digital tools, M&E dashboards, and reporting systems
- Ability to support district-level events, campaigns, trainings, and coordination processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Gujarati is must and English
- Ability to document field insights, case studies, and implementation learnings effectively
- Ability to work effectively in evolving and ambiguous implementation environments
