SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) is a Mumbai-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, nutrition, and safety of women and children living in vulnerable urban informal settlements. Our mission is to empower urban women and children through integrated health and nutrition programs, education, and advocacy.

We work through a dual approach—engaging both care seekers and care providers. At the community level, we empower women and families to become agents of change, while simultaneously collaborating with public health and safety systems to drive sustainable improvements in urban health outcomes.

Between 2016 and 2025, SNEHA directly reached over 620,555 women, children, and healthcare workers, and indirectly impacted a population of over 3.63 million across seven municipal corporations and three municipal councils in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Today, SNEHA is a 500+ member organization with deep grassroots presence and a strong track record of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, child malnutrition, adolescent anemia, and gender-based violence— key determinants of health equity for families and communities.

ABOUT THE DOMAIN
SNEHA aims to establish an evidence-base for models of urban health intervention that can be scaled and replicated by the government and other NGOs. One of the ways of achieving this is by evaluating the impact of interventions according to the stated objectives of the program, and by designing strong and efficient data management and visualization systems which help monitor the intervention.

SNEHA’s Information Management (IM) domain plays an integral role in this process, and aims to:

To design and implement Business Intelligence system to enable data-driven decisions

To strengthen IT infrastructure for data security and smooth functioning of routine tasks

To design and develop technology-based initiatives to aid implementation of programs and domains processes

SNEHA is on a multi-year digital transformation strategy to improve the quality, reach, and effectiveness of its services across programs and domains through the design and delivery of innovative digital products.

As part of its digital transformation journey, SNEHA is leveraging technology-enabled solutions including AI and machine learning-enabled communication platforms, data systems, mobile applications, and WhatsAppbased chatbots to improve community engagement, service delivery, behavior change communication, and decision-making across programs.

PROFILE SNAPSHOT
Designation: Product and Project Manager

Role: Under the direction of the fCTO, Information Management, the Product Manager will lead the development and management of digital solutions that support
employees, frontline workers, communities, patients, families, and other end-users through multiple channels.

Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information

Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Product Management or

Digital Product Management.

COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
This role will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle from ideation to implementation, ensuring that digital products are user-centric, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. The Product Manager will define end-user and business requirements, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely and effective delivery of products.

The role will also support the development and scale-up of AI/ML-enabled digital solutions, including WhatsApp-based conversational chatbots and communication platforms designed to improve beneficiary engagement, service uptake, frontline worker support, and data-driven program implementation.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
• Lead end-to-end product management across the product lifecycle — from ideation, requirement gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement Ensure products align with organizational strategy and program priorities while defining key metrics for product success and adoption Develop and manage product roadmaps, define priorities, and ensure timely execution of deliverables
• Scope and prioritize activities based on programmatic and organizational needs
• Monitor product performance, gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for process and product improvement

Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including Programs, Domains, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Technology teams, as well as external stakeholders such as technology vendors and implementation partners
• Collaborate with design, development, and data & analytics teams to align efforts for effective product delivery
• Coordinate with vendors and implementation partners to ensure quality delivery and compliance with project timelines and standards
• Create buy-in for the product vision internally and externally through regular engagement, demonstrations, presentations, and knowledge-sharing

User-Centric Product Development
• Represent the voice of end users throughout the product development lifecycle and ensure solutions are practical, user-friendly, and contextually relevant
• Translate product strategy into detailed business requirements, user stories, workflows, prototypes, and functional documentation
• Work with program teams to strengthen digital engagement strategies for communities and frontline workers through conversational interfaces and technology-enabled communication solutions

Digital Innovation & Technology Enablement
• Conduct market scans and research to identify emerging best practices, digital innovations, and opportunities for product enhancement
• Support the development and deployment of AI and ML-enabled digital products including WhatsApp chatbots, communication automation tools, beneficiary engagement platforms, and decision-support systems

Product Advocacy & Organizational Adoption
• Act as a product evangelist to build awareness, understanding, and adoption of digital solutions across the organization
• Drive organizational understanding and adoption of digital products and technology-enabled solutions through continuous engagement and advocacy

• Understanding of community-focused digital engagement and technology for social impact preferred

DESIRABLE
• Prior experience in managing products in the public health, social impact, development, or non profit sector.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled solutions, conversational interfaces, WhatsApp chatbot ecosystems, and digital engagement tools
Project Management, Agile, Scrum, or Lean certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Change Management experience/certification
