The Govt of India and UN ORGANISATION Country Programme Document (CPD) 2023-27 envisages to support the government-led nutrition programming for universal and equitable coverage of essential nutrition interventions for women, infants, and young children 0-23 months and adolescent girls. One of the priorities of the country programme is to reduce maternal malnutrition and mortality by promoting nutritious diets, iron-folic acid supplementation, and essential nutrition services in ANC/PNC for women during, and after pregnancy. Programming will aim at addressing nutritional requirements before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after pregnancy with focus onall forms of malnutrition (underweight, anaemia, overweight). The aim will be to prioritize promotion and protection of healthy diets, promotion of physical activity, nutrition literacy, and strengthen nutrition services during adolescence and preconception period ensuring women enter pregnancy with adequate weight and have safe motherhood, with positive birth outcomes. This calls for strengthening government schemes and platforms such as Anaemia Mukht Bharat/Bangla (AMB), Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic, School Health and Wellness programme, Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan and Village Health Nutrition and Sanitation Day (VHNSD).
