Title: Coordinator – Community Development

Breakthrough is looking for a dynamic, result oriented Coordinator- Community Development, who would be working closely with District Manager/Supervisor (Implementation) – The person will responsible for the management and implementation of the adolescent rights and empowerment program in the 8-10 Gram Panchayats in accordance with the Breakthrough’s Deep Transformation Strategy/Model. Responsibilities: The person should have working experience with adolescent programs for girls and boys in both communities at grass-root level, preferably on rights and empowerment and also have good training and open facilitation skill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain an effective relationship with the frontline workers (ASHA, AWW, ANM), PRIs members, local media and other relevant stakeholders to deepen the intervention and the government officials at block level for smooth implementation of the program.
- Facilitate regular discussion and sessions on Gender based discrimination and violence- rights and entitlements in Schools, with community- parents and stakeholders.
- Facilitate formation of groups with adolescents, 19+youth and other stakeholders and work them closely towards building a conducive environment for adolescents for demand generation for rights and entitlements.
- Facilitate and aware community members about being awakened responsible citizens using games and art.
- Coordinate and execute training sessions with various community groups.
- Able to lead gram panchayats and block level advocacy.
- Filling up monitoring formats regularly and in time
- Coordinate and execute community mobilization activities in the respective intervention area.
- Create reports on a regular basis including pictures and fill tracking forms as per the daily, weekly and monthly formats provided.
- Working in coordination with a team working in schools/community and block.
- Managing stock of IEC and merchandise.
- Managing field level Data and verifying the as per the MIS guidelines and formats.
- Be open to learning and taking on any other task assigned by the supervisor.
- The candidate should have the ability to work in an informal atmosphere.
- Good in balancing professional and personal life.
Specific Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required:
- At least 2-3 years of experience on adolescent rights and empowerment issues especially in open communities.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or gender studies or equivalent.
- Prior experience of community mobilization and organization.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to lead relationships with external stakeholders (families, stakeholders-PRI, FLWs, different government departments etc.).
