Job Description: ICS Manager – Promotion of Cotton Value chain Initiative

Position Summary
The ICS Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing the Internal Control System (ICS) for cotton procurement operations, ensuring compliance with regenerative agriculture standards, traceability requirements, quality protocols, and procurement procedures. The role will support transparent and efficient cotton sourcing by overseeing farmer compliance, procurement process monitoring, documentation, audits, and certification processes across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Internal Control System (ICS) framework and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cotton value chain.
• Manage farmer registration, field verification, farm mapping, and maintenance of farmer databases and traceability records.
• Ensure compliance with regenerative agriculture, sustainability, certification, and project requirements through regular inspections and monitoring.
• Oversee procurement operations at collection centers, including verification of procurement records, stock management, quality control, and transaction transparency.
• Establish and maintain end-to-end traceability systems from farm to procurement and processing points.
• Conduct internal audits, compliance assessments, and facilitate external certification and verification audits.
• Train field teams, procurement staff and farmer groups on ICS procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports, analyse compliance and procurement data, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, certification agencies, procurement teams, and management to ensure smooth implementation of procurement and compliance systems.
Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience of cotton value chain establishment, agricultural value chains, sustainability programs, certification systems or supply chain management.
• Experience in managing Internal Control Systems (ICS), traceability systems, audits, and farmer-based procurement models is desirable.
• Knowledge of regenerative agriculture, Better Cotton, Fairtrade, Cotton Connect, or similar sustainability standards will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of cotton production, procurement, traceability, and compliance systems.
• Proficiency in MIS, MS Excel, digital data collection tools, and reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, audit, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead field teams and work extensively in rural procurement clusters.
Compensation Offered:
• Gross remuneration for the position is Rs. 35,000 per month depending on the experience
