Job Description: Senior Specialist – Resource Mobilization and Partnerships

Position Summary: Population Foundation of India (PFI) is seeking an experienced resource mobilization professional to support the organization's efforts to secure institutional funding and build strategic partnerships that advance its work on population, health and gender issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Resource Mobilization and Donor Engagement
• Conduct donor landscaping, intelligence gathering, and prospect mapping to identify and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with PFI's strategic priorities.
• Monitor and track funding opportunities including RFPs, EOIs, grant calls, and partnership announcements across bilateral and multilateral agencies, philanthropic foundations, CSR partners, and institutional donors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors to strengthen PFI's funding pipeline and partnership ecosystem.
• Represent PFI at donor consultations, sector forums, conferences, and networking platforms to enhance organizational visibility and positioning.
Proposal Development and Internal Coordination
• Lead the development and submission of high-quality concept notes, proposals, and grant applications, ensuring donor compliance, quality assurance, and timely submission.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across programme, communications, monitoring and evaluation, finance, and leadership teams throughout the proposal development process.
• Work closely with programme teams to translate technical expertise and programmatic priorities into compelling, fundable narratives.
• Coordinate with finance and operations teams to develop donor-compliant budgets and supporting documentation.
• Maintain robust systems for tracking donor engagement, funding opportunities, proposal pipelines, and outcomes.

• Familiarity with the Indian and international development funding landscape, including institutional philanthropy and CSR funding.
• Experience in partnership development will be an advantage.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Master's degree in Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Management, or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in resource mobilization, institutional fundraising, grant acquisition, partnerships, or related functions within the development sector.
• Demonstrated experience in developing successful funding proposals for institutional donors, foundations, CSR partners, or development agencies.
• Strong understanding of donor priorities, funding mechanisms, and proposal development processes.
• Computer and IT proficiency.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi
