Job Title: Child Protection and Education Lead
Location: CINI Head Office, Daulatpur, P.O: Pailan, Via Joka, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, 700104.
CTC: Rs. 1,20,000 per month (negotiable, commensurate with experience)
Languages Required:
• Excellent proficiency in English
• Working knowledge of Hindi and Bengali will be preferred
Qualification & Experience required:
The following range of technical skills, competencies and experience is required:
• An advanced University degree in social sciences
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in child protection or education programming
• Good understanding and knowledge of national policies, strategies, programmes aligned to global framework
• Good ability to support policy dialogue: translation of analytical findings and evidence into development programmes and policy discussions around equity and rights with partners, including government, development partners, CSOs and academia in relevant areas.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and other human relations skills, as well as effective strong leadership and decision-making competency
• Strong organizational and networking skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication and report and proposal writing skills in English is required. Writing samples may be requested.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Excellent ability to collect, treat and analyze data.
• Advanced computer literacy expected in Word, Excel and Power Point.

Join CINI as Child Protection and Education Lead and play a key role in strengthening Child Protection and Education programmes that advance the rights and wellbeing of children and adolescents. Under the overall guidance and direction of the Chief of CINI Resource Centre, the Child Protection and Education Lead will have the primary responsibility to guide and strengthen the Child Protection and Education programmes of CINI and position CINI’s work in the Child Protection and Education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
The Lead will provide technical guidance, strategic planning, programme designing, monitoring and evaluation, evidence building and overall management, coordination and operational support, in order to:
1. Coordinate the activities of CINI’s child protection and education Unit providing technical and administrative support to CINI’s child protection and education programme within the framework of CINI’s policies and methods, including the 5-year strategic direction/plan of the Institute, in child protection and Education.
2. Strengthening Education and Child Protection portfolio of CINI by designing projects, raising funds and mobilizing resources.
3. Lead, support and coordinate with the child protection and education programme team in the field units in formulating and implementing child protection and education projects, assisting in project/programme design, donor relationship and reporting functions.
4. Support and coordinate with the child protection and education programme team in planning and monitoring child protection and education activities at the levels of head office and field offices.
5. Lead and support in building evidence based on the child protection and education programme initiatives.
6. Represent and position CINI in the broader child protection policy and programme environment at international, regional, national and sub-national levels, establishing steady relationships with relevant government departments/ministries, technical organizations and funding agencies.
7. Provide effective guidance in carrying out advocacy and networking activities to influence policymaking in child protection and education.
8. Keep abreast with recent developments and trends in child protection and education-related realms at the national and international levels to guide the CINI’s child protection and education team and extend technical support to the government and other key technical bodies.
9. Introduce, document and evaluate innovative approaches to enhance child protection and education programme especially in emerging areas of concern.
10. Represent CINI at relevant government and civil society platforms to share learning and influence policy and programme development.
11. Present CINI’s child protection and education work in various national or international forums/platforms.
12. Actively monitor CINI programmes and projects through regular and frequent field visits, data collection and information exchange with CINI field teams and partners/stakeholders within the system of CINI Management System (PMS and IPMS).
13. Ensure appropriate planning and financial control of the activities and funds managed by the Child Protection and Education Unit on a regular basis.
14. Visiting various Field Unit Offices (State and District) for technical guidance as and when required.
15. To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
