ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The proposed project is part of the Flagship Program of Plan India namely “Saksham”, to promote youth employability through skill development.
The project will focus to improve technical, vocational, transferable employability skills to 775 youth, between the age group of 18-29 years from the poor, vulnerable and marginalized communities in Navi Mumbai.
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Master Trainer – Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship Development is responsible for designing, delivering, and monitoring entrepreneurship and self-employment training programs for youth, women, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The role focuses on building entrepreneurial competencies, facilitating business start-ups, strengthening enterprise management skills, and supporting participants in accessing government schemes, financial services, market linkages, and business growth opportunities.
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver entrepreneurship development and self-employment technical and domain training to project participants.
• Deliver sessions on business opportunity identification, business planning, financial literacy, enterprise management, digital marketing, customer service, and market analysis.
• Develop participants' entrepreneurial mindset, problem-solving abilities, leadership, and risk management skills.
• Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching support to aspiring entrepreneurs and micro-enterprise owners.
• Assist beneficiaries in identifying feasible self-employment and income-generation opportunities based on local market demand.
• Guide participants in enterprise registration, licensing, compliance requirements, and business formalization processes.
• Support start-up planning, business operations management, inventory management, pricing, and record-keeping.
• Train participants on life-skills, financial literacy, digital, bookkeeping, and cash-flow management.
• Facilitate linkages with banks, microfinance institutions, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and financial service providers.
• Support youth in accessing government self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes
• Support participants in developing viable business plans and enterprise growth strategies.
• Conduct practical exercises, business simulations, and case-study-based learning activities.
• Conduct periodic follow-up visits and provide post-training handholding support.
• Prepare progress reports, success stories, case studies, and impact documentation.
• Any other task as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Rural Development, Social Work, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Certification in Entrepreneurship Development, Livelihood Promotion, or Training of Trainers (ToT) is desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in entrepreneurship development, livelihoods, micro-enterprise promotion, or self-employment programs.
• Experience working with youth, women entrepreneurs, SHGs, marginalized communities, and livelihood projects is preferred.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Strong knowledge of entrepreneurship development and small business management.
• Expertise in financial literacy and enterprise planning.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and presentation skills.
• Understanding of government livelihood and entrepreneurship schemes.
• Knowledge of market systems, value chains, and enterprise ecosystems.
• Strong networking, stakeholder engagement, and partnership-building skills.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and monitoring capabilities.
