Contract Duration: 3.5 yrs (Forty-two months)

The organisation is currently working directly with nearly a million of people across six different program operation locations besides a central management and coordination office at Kolkata. As a part of its aspirations and growth, Sabuj Sangha is launching a four year long integrated initiative in the Mainpat Block of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh.
About the position:
Sabuj Sangha is going to launch a project on sustainable socio-economic development of distressed non-arrived tribal communities in the hills & forest-based areas of Mainpat block under Surguja district of Chhattisgarh through integrated livelihood, natural resource management, education and health interventions.
The Finance Coordinator (FC) would be responsible to manage the financial & administrative aspects of the HRDP Project in the Mainpat block of Chhattisgarh. The FC would be in overall charge of the financial management and monitoring of the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) of Sabuj Sangha; will ensure timely disbursement of funds for undertaking project activities as per the implementation plan so that the primary and secondary impact groups can be benefitted through the project. The FC will ensure selection of service providers/ vendors, procurement, payments to ensure accomplishment of all committed activities as planned in alignment with the organisational procurement and financial policy.
The person will do regular monitoring of project finances and undertake structured review of the accomplishment of activities through Project Staff. The person will work closely with the Project Manager and Thematic Experts for financial planning and allocations for undertaking the activities as planned in the project document. This position will be responsible to facilitate project level expenses as per the projected budget & Cash Flow, will track them and will prepare internal and donor financial reports, timely updates as required by Sabu Sangha management and the donor.
Primary responsibilities and deliverables:
a. Managing all financial and administrative matters related to the project implementation, maintaining adequate accounting records/review all incoming invoices, vouchers, and receipts.
b. Prepare all payment vouchers, obtain appropriate approvals and signatures/ submitting timely financial reports to the Coordinating Office, as well as maintaining day-to-day administrative operations.
c. Lead the identification of vendors, quotes for price comparison/ Draft purchase orders.
d. The person will work closely with the Project Manager and Thematic Experts for financial planning and allocations for undertaking the activities as planned in the project document; prepare Cash Flow and share it with the Chief Finance & Compliance Officer on a quarterly basis.
e. Support the Programme Manager in project administration and team management.
f. Undertake regular Financial Monitoring and review and extend support to the Programme Manager in tracking project level expenses on a timely manner.
g. S/he will do the regular tracking of expenditure by the project team and flag any issue in relation to this to the Programme Manager and Chief Finance & Compliance Officer
h. S/he will compile monthly and quarterly Financial Report compiling expenditure undertaken by the Field Office and share it with the Chief Finance & Compliance Officer and Programme Manager.
i. Work with the Chief Finance & Compliance Officer to ensure the donor compliance and compliance as stipulated by Govt. of India.
Essential qualification and experience:
a. Master’s Degree in Business Administration/ Business Management, Master’s/ Graduate degree in Commerce or related field, with a specialization in Finance
b. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar type of organization on similar profile
c. Experience with donor finance reporting and ability to manage the field level finance related issues.
d. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and skills to effectively communicate within and outside the organization to collect and consolidate relevant financial data
e. Proficiency in Computerized Financial Management/ Accounting packages, Microsoft Office
f. Experience of working with national/ international NGO will be given preference.
g. Experience of working in the direct implementation program/project
Compensation: Rs. 38,000/- per month
