About the Project:
The ICE Screen TB Project (Swasthya Nagaram Urban End TB Initiative) is a pragmatic randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of various mass TB screening strategies in selected municipalities of Telangana The project focuses on identifying the most effective community-wide systematic screening approach for urban areas. It seeks to evaluate whether ultra-portable chest X-ray machines with CAD, low-cost molecular tests, or targeted screening of vulnerable groups can be the most impactful in reducing TB burden in urban India.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Junior Field Officers (JFOs) shall be responsible for overseeing the team of staff participating in the screening activity, implementing the project as per the performance framework, monitoring and data validation, and addressing day to day pragmatic challenges on the ground.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Develop the screening plan, coordinate screening activities and manage operations at the project site;
(2) Oversee preparatory visits to selected project sites before commencing screening activity;
(3) Ensure the quality of data collected, data management and ensure timely reporting;
(4) Oversee community mobilisation and queue management at the screening site;
(5) Coordinate with volunteers for quality-assured door to door screening and mobilisation of eligible persons for camps;
(6) Laise with local stakeholders for all screening activities;
(7) Support X-ray technicians in debottlenecking and problem-solving operational issues;
(8) Liaise with district and block-level NTEP officials and the primary health care team for effective project implementation;
(9) Ensure regular conduct of active TB case-finding activities and proper linking for treatment initiation;
(10) Ensure adherence to the M&E and implementation plans;
(11) Ensure timely reporting of all problems faced in implementing the screening protocol;
(12) Undertake any other job or task assigned by the project team.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Postgraduate in Health/ Social Work/ allied subjects;
(2) At least one to three years of experience in the public health/ development sector and ability to work independently;
(3) Prior experience in managing field operations and working in community setups is preferred;
(4) Experience of working with the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) will be an advantage.
(5) Local candidate having fluency in Regional Language is non-negotiable.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Building successful collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
(2) Fluency in the regional language is mandatory; Preference will be given to local candidates;
(3) Willingness to travel extensively within the project area, as necessary.
Compensation offered:
Offer shall be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
