Position: Rehabilitation Officer: 1 position
Duration of the agreement:01 August 2026- 31st July 2027 with possibility of extension
Terms & Conditions: Fixed Term (Renewable contract)
Location: Remote (Based in EKTA Office – Bastar Chhattisgarh)
About the Position:
Under the operational supervision of the Country Area Manager and the technical supervision of the Rehabilitation Technical Specialist , the Rehabilitation Officer provides support to EKTA’s Staffs in providing functional rehabilitation service as well monitoring the project implementation to ensure technical quality of service provided.

Key Responsibilities:
Mission 1: Strategy and steering
- Support EKTA in mapping existing health services in the area of project implementation to promote appropriate referrals advance functional and health related services.
- In Coordination with Physical rehabilitation specialist and Country Area manager, ensure proper documentation, monitoring and reporting as required by HI LO office to ensure the appropriate use of resources and monitoring the quality of project implementation.
- Work in close collaboration with EKTA rehabilitation officer, Special educator and rehabilitation worker for quality and timely implementation of project activity. ensuring the quality of service
- Respect and promote HI LO’s Policies and procedure and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.
Mission 2: Operational implementation
Responsibility 1: Provision of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation
In close coordination and collaboration with EKTA’s rehabilitation officer and Rehabilitation worker , provide and monitor the day-to-day physical rehabilitation service to person with disabilities including children. functional/Physical rehabilitation service includes
- Pre-screening and prioritization for accurate assessment, planning, and provision of appropriate Rehabilitation service to the beneficiaries at centre / the beneficiaries’ home, and where relevant.
- According to the outcomes of the assessment, develop an appropriate rehabilitation plan and intervention and treatment.
- Ensure rehabilitation outcomes to a person should focus on achieving and maintaining “OPTIMAL FUNCTIONING” in interaction with their environment, personal, and outcome factors.
- Ensure the safety of the beneficiary during the rehabilitation sessions and take into account contraindications and precautions related to diverse illnesses, problems, and medical treatments. Refer for medical advice if needed. (DO NO HARM)
- Advice and training to caregiver of person with disabilities including children on home-based care.
Responsibility 2: Provision of Assistive Devices and Rehabilitation Equipment Management
- Identify the beneficiary’s needs (for critical and high-priority cases) in terms of assistive devices and mobility aids, as per HI guidelines
- Ensure that the device is adapted to user needs and provide clear explanations to guarantee its safe and proper use and maintenance. Ensure a proper follow-up on the use and wean off the assistive device
Mission 3: Emergency preparedness and response
Contributes to the program’s emergency preparedness actions and, in an emergency, adapts his or her working methods to contribute to an effective humanitarian approach by HI.
Qualification and Skills Required:
Essential:
Bachelor's Degree in (PT/ OT).
Experience:
- At least 0-2 years technical experience of working on the same thematic (Psyotherapist or Occupational Therapist) preferably in community setting.
Skills:
- Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla).
- Able to work in difficult conditions.
- Ability to drive motor bike and willingness to serve in community.
- The strong teamwork approaches.
- Availability to travel to remote areas
- Previous experience working in a remote community setting is an advantage
- Have the capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients
- Resilience to stress and uncertainty
