About us
FOGSI is looking to hire a Senior Research Coordinator to join its Program Enablement Unit for Project MUKTA (PEU-M) which has been set up under a grant from a family philanthropic foundation (referred to as ‘Donor’) to work on prevention of hemoglobinopathies.
FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) comprises leading Indian obstetricians and gynaecologists. With over 48,000 members, FOGSI champions excellence in women's healthcare by setting high standards for care, promoting education and research, advocating for maternal and child health, and empowering healthcare professionals through ongoing education and development.
About Project MUKTA
Under Project MUKTA -Mission to Unite for a hemoglobinopathies free India, FOGSI, in collaboration with partners, will engage private-sector health providers in 40 cities across 6 states to prioritize universal screening and prevention of hemoglobinopathies (Thalassemia, Sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies) among women of reproductive age with special focus on pregnant women. Over the project period, project MUKTA aims to:
1. Launch Good clinical practice recommendations (GCPR) and create capacity building modules to enhance clinical knowledge of gynaecologists.
2. Develop strategic partnerships with private clinics and obstetricians to prioritise adoption of screening and prevention practices around hemoglobinopathies as per GCPR.
3. Consolidate comprehensive body of evidence on screening, prevention and diagnosis of Hemoglobinopathies.
About the Opportunity :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join FOGSI’s Program Enablement Unit for Project MUKTA (PEU-M) as a Senior Research Coordinator. The PEU-M will provide critical support across program management, field-level program delivery, financial management, research and evidence building, content development, communications, and advocacy.
The Senior Research Coordinator’s responsibilities will include monitoring, analysis and interpretation of available data for programmatic action, extensive research, analysis and coordination with agencies, senior team members and stakeholders to produce advocacy materials.
The professional will be required to work from FOGSI office from Monday to Saturday. Occasional travel will be required to the field.
Job Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Provide technical inputs to the MEL agency for the development and refinement of monitoring frameworks, indicators, data collection tools and analytical plans.
2. Analyse program data to identify trends, implementation gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for Program teams, project leadership and stakeholders.
3. Document learnings from program activities and actions and lead the preparation of presentations, technical reports, donor reports, research manuscripts, White paper, policy briefs, and other knowledge products for internal reviews, conferences, scientific meetings, donor engagements, and policy forums.
4. Lead operational research, midline and endline evaluations, implementation studies, literature reviews, and evidence generation to inform clinical practice, program improvement, and policy.
5. Coordinate with field staff ensure timely data availability and with MEL agency to ensure quality assurance, and alignment of monitoring and research activities with project objectives.
6. Any other task as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications and Qualities:
The ideal candidate would possess the following:
1. Master's degree in population studies, epidemiology, Public Health (MPH), Biostatistics, Public Health Research, Community Medicine, or a related field. A medical degree with relevant public health training will be an advantage but not essential.
2. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in public health research, implementation research, monitoring and evaluation, or program evaluation.
3. Experience working on maternal health, genetics, reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, or public health implementation projects is desirable.
4. Experience working with private health care providers, professional bodies, academic institutions or donor-funded projects will be preferred.
5. Demonstrated experience in scientific writing, technical reporting, and publication development.
Required Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of Monitoring, public health research methodologies, epidemiology, and implementation research.
2. Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, or R).
3. Excellent scientific writing, report writing, and presentation development skills.
4. Ability to synthesize evidence into actionable programmatic and policy recommendations.
5. Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other data visualization tools as well as AI enabled productivity tools.
7. Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams while meeting tight timelines
8. Willingness to work from Office and occasional travel
Remuneration:
The remuneration of this position will be in the range of Rs 130000- 150000/month but will depend upon the capabilities and last salary drawn.
