Field Extension Officer – Mint with Purpose (MwP) 
 
Location: Mandi Dhanaura & Gajraula Blocks, Amroha District, Uttar Pradesh

About the Project 
Mint with Purpose (MwP) is a multi-stakeholder sustainability and livelihood development initiative supported by dsm-firmenich along with Norex Flavours Pvt. Ltd., with Seva Trust as the NGO partner. 
 
The project aims to improve the livelihoods and resilience of smallholder mint farmers and their households by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening farmers' technical and entrepreneurial capacities, supporting income diversification, facilitating access to government social protection schemes, and promoting greater gender equality and inclusion within rural communities. 
 
The project works directly with farming communities in selected villages of Mandi Dhanaura and Gajraula blocks of Amroha District, Uttar Pradesh
 
About the Position 
The Field Extension Officer (FEO) will play a key role in the field-level implementation of the Mint with Purpose project. The position requires regular engagement with farmers, rural households, community representatives, government functionaries and other project stakeholders. 
 
The FEO will be responsible for farmer mobilisation, agricultural extension, field demonstrations, community engagement, data collection, monitoring and reporting, as well as providing regular handholding support to participating farmers.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Farmer Engagement & Mobilisation: Mobilise and onboard farmers and rural households; build community relationships and promote participation, including women and vulnerable groups. 
  • Agricultural Extension & Technical Support: Provide technical guidance on mint cultivation, sustainable farming, soil health, pest management and nutrition gardens. Conduct farmer trainings, field demonstrations and capacity building activities. 
  • Field Monitoring & Implementation: Conduct regular field visits, monitor crop and project activities, identify field-level challenges and support timely implementation of interventions, harvesting and distillation activities. 
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Social Protection: Facilitate access to relevant government schemes and services. Coordinate with community leaders, government departments, PRI representatives, project teams and partner organisations. Coordinate closely with project teams, distillation units and partner institutions. 
  • Data Management, Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate farmer and project data through prescribed MIS systems. Prepare field reports, activity updates, case studies and success stories, and support project monitoring and learning. 
Essential / Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related discipline. 
  • 1–3 years of relevant field experience in agriculture, livelihoods, rural development, social development, community mobilisation or related areas will be preferred. 
  • Prior experience working with farmers, NGOs, community-based organisations or social development projects will be an advantage. 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, is desirable. 
Skills and Competencies: 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with farmers/rural communities. 
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with farmers and local stakeholders. 
  • Willingness and ability to work independently with limited supervision 
  • Understanding of local community dynamics, rural development issues and government welfare/social protection schemes will be an advantage. 
  • Proficiency in Hindi and local dialects spoken in the project area. 
  • Must be able to operate a two-wheeler and possess a valid driving licence and possess a two-wheeler for field visits.  
Compensation and Benefits:  
 
Consolidated Monthly Compensation: INR 18,000 – 22,000
The compensation offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and suitability for the role, and will be finalized during the selection process. 
 
Travel Reimbursement: Project-related travel expenses will be reimbursed separately, in addition to the monthly consolidated compensation, as per the applicable project policy.
