About the Role
SAFE is seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide strategic and operational oversight across a portfolio of interconnected development and environmental programs. The position will facilitate cross-functional coordination between program implementation, research, finance, and institutional management, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, approved work plans, budgets, and expected outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide portfolio-level oversight of interconnected projects and ensure alignment with organizational strategies, programme objectives, and implementation plans.
* Coordinate between programme, research, finance, and administrative functions to facilitate integrated project execution.
* Develop and review M&E frameworks, activity matrices, logframes, indicators, milestones, and reporting mechanisms.
* Support preparation and review of activity-based budgets, resource plans, and expenditure projections.
* Monitor programme progress, deliverables, timelines, resource utilization, and implementation risks.
* Participate in project field assessments, internal audits, financial audits, and compliance reviews.
* Consolidate programme information and prepare management reports, progress updates, analytical summaries, and presentations for the Administration and Board of Trustees.
* Identify operational bottlenecks and inter-project dependencies and support appropriate mitigation measures.
* Facilitate coordination with internal teams, project partners, consultants, and institutional stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications
* Postgraduate degree in Science from a recognized institution.
* A management qualification will be preferred.
* Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Good command of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

Experience
* 3-5 years of relevant experience in the development sector, preferably in programme coordination, project management, M&E, research, or institutional operations.
* Experience in managing multi-component projects or cross-functional teams will be an advantage.

Age: 40-50 years preferred; no age bar for a suitable candidate.

Salary: 35,000-40,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.

Contractual appointment for a minimum period of two years, extendable by mutual consent. A three-month initial engagement/warm-up period will apply.
