About the Program
Organisation is working closely with the MoHFW to strengthen the national nutrition programme, including support for the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Abhiyaan. The programme provides technical and analytical support for planning, implementation, monitoring, capacity strengthening, communication, and evidence generation. Under the guidance of MoHFW, and in collaboration with partners and technical institutions, it strengthens programme governance, promotes data-driven decision-making, and supports progress towards national anaemia reduction targets.
About the Position
The M&E Officer will provide monitoring, evaluation, data management, and analytical support to strengthen the implementation and performance monitoring of the Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The role will work closely with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Nutrition Division, Program Manager/National Program Officer, technical advisors, state governments, and other key stakeholders to strengthen programme monitoring, digital monitoring systems, programme intelligence, fact sheets, analytical products, and evidence generation. The incumbent is expected to support data-driven decision-making, identify implementation gaps, facilitate continuous quality improvement, undertake field visits as required, and contribute to achieving the objectives of AMB Abhiyaan.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Support the development, refinement, and implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) framework for AMB Abhiyaan to monitor programme performance, assess implementation quality, and guide timely corrective actions.
• Support the MoHFW and Program Manager/National Program Officer in programme data management, analysis, interpretation, and generation of actionable insights for evidence-based programme decision-making.
• Strengthen programme monitoring through performance analytics, supportive supervision, regular programme reviews, and tracking of key programme indicators.
• Support the use and strengthening of digital monitoring platforms and systems, including relevant linkages between POSHAN Tracker and RCH 2.0, to support the T4 (Test, Treat, Talk and Track) approach for anaemia management.
• Support development of national and state nutrition programme fact sheets and analytical products to track programme performance, highlight key indicators, identify implementation gaps, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Support the design and implementation of rapid assessments, including development/refinement of data collection tools, data analysis, identification of implementation bottlenecks, and preparation of assessment reports.
• Contribute to the development of technical reports, analytical briefs, fact sheets, presentations, and other programme knowledge products.
• Liaise with MoHFW, State Governments, development partners, technical institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate data sharing, programme monitoring, evidence generation, and use of findings for programme improvement.
• Provide technical support and capacity strengthening to national and state programme teams on monitoring, data management, data use, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Undertake field visits, as required, to support programme monitoring, data verification, rapid assessments, and documentation of implementation practices.
• All other works related and assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
• Required: Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Health Informatics, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
• Preferred: Advanced qualification in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related discipline.
• Required: 3 - 5 years' experience of working in monitoring and evaluation, data management, programme analytics, or public health at national/state level.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Public Health & Nutrition programs including National Health Mission and Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
Skills
• Experience and demonstrated ability in monitoring and evaluation, programme data analysis, data management, and evidence generation.
• Strong understanding of public health and nutrition programme indicators, monitoring systems, and data quality processes.
• Experience in developing programme fact sheets, analytical reports, data summaries, and presentations for government and other stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task, including strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with statistical/data analysis software and data visualization tools will be an advantage.
• Ability to interpret programme data, identify implementation gaps, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members including senior government officials.
• Strong demonstrated MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
