About the Role:
Synergie is seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant Manager – Scholarship Operations to lead the operational implementation of scholarship programs across multiple clients and geographies. The role requires expertise in scholar mobilization, scholarship administration, application management, document verification, stakeholder engagement, technology-enabled operations, and team leadership.
The incumbent will oversee the complete scholarship lifecycle, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, quality assurance, and achievement of program objectives.
This role is specifically designed for professionals with prior experience in scholarship and education-support programs. Candidates from unrelated operations backgrounds may not
be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Operations Management:
• Lead end-to-end implementation of scholarship programs from launch to closure.
• Develop operational plans, timelines, SOPs, workflows, and monitoring frameworks.
• Ensure timely achievement of program milestones and deliverables.
• Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
Scholar Mobilization & Outreach Strategy:
• Design and execute scholar mobilization strategies across target geographies.
• Build relationships with educational institutions, universities, coaching centres, NGOs, and outreach partners.
• Monitor outreach performance and optimize mobilization efforts.
• Ensure achievement of application and beneficiary targets.
Scholarship Application Management:
• Oversee application intake, screening, eligibility assessment, and review processes.
• Ensure adherence to scholarship guidelines and selection criteria.
• Monitor application processing timelines and quality standards.
• Manage escalations and exception cases.
Document Verification & Risk Management:
• Lead document scrutiny and verification processes.
• Develop verification protocols and quality assurance mechanisms.
• Identify and mitigate risksrelated to fraudulent applications and documentation discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and client requirements.
Technology &Dashboard Management:
• Oversee scholarship management platforms, CRM systems, dashboards, and operational tools.
• Monitor real-time program performance through MIS and analytics.
• Work with technology teams to improve platform functionality and user experience.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting across systems.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
• Lead, mentor, and supervise scholarship operations teams.
• Set team KPIs and performance targets.
• Conduct regular reviews and capacity-building initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Management:
• Serve asthe primary operational point of contact for clients, CSR partners, educational institutions, and implementation partners.
• Present operational updates, reports, insights, and recommendations.
• Ensure high levels of client and beneficiary satisfaction.
Reporting, Compliance & Governance:
• Review MIS reports, dashboards, and operational analytics.
• Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
• Support audits, due diligence processes, and impact assessments.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and client requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of scholarship and education program management.
• Expertise in scholar mobilization, application management, and beneficiary operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and dashboard management.
• Experience working with scholarship management systems, CRM platforms, and workflow tools.
• Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and large-scale scholarship portfolios.
• Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
Educational Qualification:
• Graduate or Postgraduate in Management, Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, Commerce, or related disciplines.
Experience:
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in scholarship management, education programs, CSR education initiatives, fellowship programs, student support programs, or beneficiary operations.
• Minimum 3–4 years of direct experience managing scholarship programs or education-focused beneficiary operations is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience leading scholarship application reviews, document verification processes, scholar mobilization campaigns, and beneficiary onboarding.
• Experience managing technology-enabled scholarship platforms, dashboards, and operational systems.
• Prior experience working with corporate CSR scholarship programs, educational foundations, universities, trusts, EdTech organizations, or scholarship service providers is strongly preferred.
• Candidates without prior scholarship-sector experience will not be considered.
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria:
• Proven track record of managing scholarship or education-support programs.
• Strong experience in scholar mobilization, application review, verification, beneficiary management, and scholarship administration.
• Experience leading operational teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency in scholarship management platforms, dashboards, MIS systems, and CRM tools.
• Ability to manage large-scale scholarship portfolios and complex operational processes.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing CSR-funded scholarship programs.
