About the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Group (SEG)

Context and Role
Manage the design and scale-up of social innovations that advance women's economic empowerment through entrepreneurship. The role combines systems thinking, ecosystem building, and project management to co-create practical solutions to improve women entrepreneurs' access to finance, markets, technology, and enterprise support, while strengthening local institutions and partnerships.

The Programme Manager will oversee end-to-end project delivery, working closely with government, community institutions, and ecosystem partners to ensure sustainable impact. The role requires proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships, along with strong financial and budget management skills. It also calls for the ability to translate ideas and evidence into clear, compelling narratives for varied audiences. A hands-on approach, regular field engagement, and genuine commitment to the mission are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:
• Lead the planning and execution of projects by taking full ownership of timelines, deliverables and quality of outcomes.
• Ensure timely delivery of programme milestones, budgets and client commitments while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Translate programme strategy into actionable implementation plans and monitor performance against agreed outcomes

2. Partnership Management:
• Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with government departments, financial institutions, NGOs and women's collectives (SHGs/CLFs/CBOs).
• Structure and draft collaboration agreements and joint work plans with implementation and ecosystem partners.
• Anchor periodic partner review mechanisms to track performance, resolve bottlenecks, and strengthen collaboration quality.
• Build convergence between program partners and government schemes/infrastructure to maximise reach and sustainability.

3. Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development:
• Support designing and scaling of tools, models and prototypes that strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems for women at the district and cluster level.
• Drive the co-creation of enterprise models, business plans and market linkages with aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs.
• Identify and address systemic barriers to enterprise growth such as access to finance, market access, municipal interfaces, and government scheme uptake.
• Champion social innovation approach that builds local ownership of the ecosystem among stakeholders.
• Provide inputs into development of capacity-building modules, SOPs for government agencies, NGOs and development practitioners and oversee delivery of related workshops.

4. Insights, Learning and Knowledge:
• Generate actionable insights from programme implementation to improve delivery and influence future programme design.
• Synthesis of field data, good practices and stakeholder insights into compelling narratives that demonstrate program impact.
• Develop high-quality case studies, briefs, evidence papers and knowledge products that position the program's impact externally.
• Ensure rigour, quality and consistency of data across sources, drive a culture of evidence-based decision-making.

5. High Impact Presentations & Strategic Notes:
• Contribute to the development of high-impact presentations, concept notes.
• Draft crisp strategic and impact notes for external positioning.
• Contribute to resource mobilisation efforts, including proposal development, data storytelling and content insights and inputs.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
• Qualification: Master of Social Work/ Sociology /Development Studies/ Any other related field
• Experience: 4-8 Years
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and proven strategic thinking.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of proficiency in English and the ability to work well autonomously.
• Strong focus on producing the highest quality of work and on ensuring optimum accuracy of outputs.
• Fluency in English is essential with regional languages.
