District Coordinator

FOGSI is looking to hire a Districts Coordinator to join its Program Enablement Unit which has been set up under a grant from a leading international foundation (referred to as ‘Donor’) to work towards improving maternal healthcare.

FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) comprises leading Indian obstetricians and gynaecologists (OBGYNs). With over 43,000 members and 275 societies nationwide, FOGSI champions excellence in women's healthcare by setting high standards for care, promoting education and research, advocating for maternal and child health, and empowering healthcare professionals through ongoing education and development.
About the Grant
FOGSI, in collaboration with other health sector partners, is engaging private-sector health providers in select districts across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, and additional states to enhance maternal and reproductive healthcare quality. The focus is on improving care through evidence-based continuous professional development (CPD) for private healthcare providers and nurses, access to FOGSI-endorsed standardised care pathways and counseling tools, and in-clinic support for adoption of the pathway and innovative tools. This initiative aims to strengthen processes and introduce innovative strategies in private sector facilities.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
1. Private Provider Engagement and Relationship Management
• Conduct routine facility visits to support provider engagement and implementation.
• Build and maintain strong, sustained relationships with OBGYNs, nurses, paramedics, nursing homes, maternity facilities, and other relevant private healthcare providers and facilities in assigned districts.
• Identify, onboard, and regularly engage eligible healthcare providers and facilities as per project criteria.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for providers and ensure regular communication, follow-up, and troubleshooting.
• Drive provider participation in webinars, digital learning opportunities, and other project activities.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Data Management
• Ensure timely and accurate collection of provider, facility, activity, participation, and outcome data through prescribed digital/data collection tools.
• Conduct post-training and post-engagement follow-ups to assess whether providers are applying knowledge, adopting recommended practices, or using project-supported tools/interventions.
3. Field Coordination and Stakeholder Management
• Maintain regular communication with district-level facilities.
• Conduct regular, structured field visits based on an agreed district engagement and monitoring plan.
• Represent the project professionally during meetings with providers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Essential:
· Graduate degree in Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
· 2–4 years of relevant field experience in health programmes, private-sector healthcare engagement, provider engagement, or similar roles.
· Experience working with private hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, doctors, or other healthcare providers in maternity / reproductive services will be strongly preferred.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-management skills.
· Willingness to undertake extensive field travel within the assigned district and adjoining districts.
· Ability to independently plan and execute field activities, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver against targets.
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential. Ability to use digital tools, navigate apps, and use digital reporting systems will be a requirement in the project.
Desirable:
· Experience working in maternal and newborn health, family planning or related programmes.
· Experience with FOGSI, professional medical associations or private healthcare networks.
· Experience in facility-based data collection, monitoring or reporting.
· Familiarity with digital data collection tools and dashboards.
· Knowledge of the local language and familiarity with the district's private healthcare landscape.

Candidates who have demonstrated experience in private healthcare engagement, provider mobilization, sales/service uptake, health programme implementation, or relationship-based field operations may be particularly well-suited to this role.
