Organizational Background
Gyan Seva Bharti Sansthan (GSBS) is a non-profit, voluntary development organization working since last 31 Years in Supaul and Darbhanga districts of Bihar for the socio-economic empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable communities. The organization is committed to promoting inclusive development through community-based interventions that improve access to education, health services, sustainable livelihoods, women empowerment, and social protection.
Since its inception, GSBS has been actively working in rural and underserved areas, which are highly flood affected to address issues affecting women, children, and disadvantaged households. The organization implements community-driven programs focusing on women empowerment, digital and financial literacy, child protection, health and nutrition, disaster resilience, and livelihood promotion. Through participatory approaches, GSBS mobilizes communities, strengthens local institutions, and builds the capacity of women and youth to become agents of positive change in their villages.
GSBS works closely with government departments, local self-governments, civil society organizations, and development partners to ensure effective implementation of development initiatives. The organization also promotes awareness and access to government welfare schemes, financial services, and digital technologies to enhance social inclusion and economic opportunities for rural populations.

The Teacher at the Digital & Financial Literacy Centre plays an important role in educating and empowering rural women with basic digital skills, financial knowledge, and the ability to safely use digital financial services. The teacher ensures that women gain practical knowledge that helps them access banking services, government schemes, and digital payment platforms.
1. Conducting digital financial literacy classes
• Conduct regular digital financial literacy classes at digital and financial literacy centres for rural women on a regular way.
• Provide practical demonstrations on digital financial services like Unified Payments Interface (UPI), ATM usage, and mobile banking.
• To ensure the presence of women, who are attending session at the digital and financial literacy centre.
2. Financial Literacy Education
• Educate participants on basic financial concepts such as savings, budgeting, credit management, and responsible borrowing.
• Guide women on safe digital transactions and prevention of online financial fraud.
• Promote financial planning for household economic stability.
3. Awareness on Financial Inclusion Schemes
• Provide information about financial inclusion initiatives such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and other banking services.
• Support participants in understanding benefits of insurance, pension, and savings schemes.
• Encourage women to actively use their bank accounts and digital financial tools.
4. Practical Skill Development
• Conduct hands-on practice sessions on using smartphones for digital payments, checking bank balances, and making online transactions.
• Help participants download and use digital payment applications safely.
• Ensure that trainees gain confidence in operating digital devices independently.
5. Community Mobilization
• Encourage rural women, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, and community members to attend literacy sessions.
• Promote awareness about the importance of digital and financial literacy for women’s empowerment.
• Support outreach activities in villages to increase participation.
6. Monitoring and Record Keeping
• Maintain attendance registers and training sessions records of the participants.
• Track learning progress of trainees and provide additional support to slow learners.
• Maintain records of digital literacy achievements and financial inclusion outcomes.
7. Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare periodic reports on training activities and outcomes.
• Document success stories and examples of women successfully using digital financial services.
• Share feedback with supervisors and project coordinators for improving training quality.
8. Centre Management
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of digital learning equipment such as tablets, and internet facilities.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for women participants.
• Ensure training materials and learning aids are available and properly used.
