About ASSA

Anchalik Samrudhi Sadhana Anusthan (ASSA) is a non-profit organization working as a Project Implementing Agency (PIA) for various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Kasipur Block of Rayagada District, Odisha. ASSA focuses on community development through sustainable livelihoods, agriculture promotion, women empowerment, skill development, and natural resource management. The organization also supports Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) management, strengthening farmer institutions, and facilitating market linkages for agricultural and rural products. In collaboration with CSR partners and local communities, ASSA implements programs that enhance income, build capacities, and promote sustainable development for rural and tribal communities in the region.

Role Overview:

The Marketing Officer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and overall business functioning of the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO). The role focuses on strengthening market linkages, promoting the sale of products from various production units,
ensuring operational efficiency, and achieving the financial sustainability of the FPO.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Education

MBA/PGDM from a premier management institute with strong academic grounding in strategy, public policy, or related disciplines.

Experience

At least 5-8 year of experience in program management, analytics, client management.

Skills & Competencies
• Expertise in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex development and policy challenges, synthesize insights, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Stakeholder Management: Comfort working with government officials, donors, technical partners, and internal teams in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Structured Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of concept notes, presentations, reports, and strategic briefs.
• Policy & Systems Understanding: Working knowledge of government programs, livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, and large-scale implementation systems.
• Coordination & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple workstreams, track deliverables, and ensure timely follow-ups across teams and partners.
• Problem Solving & Adaptability: Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt in evolving program and policy contexts.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively across functions, provide constructive inputs, and support senior leadership.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1.Operational Management of FPO

•Oversee daily operations of the FPO including production, procurement, and sales.
•Ensure smooth coordination between training units, production centers, and the FPO office.
•Understanding of agriculture and experience in farmer interactions.
•Supervise production planning, stock management, quality control, and timely delivery.

2.Marketing & Sales
•Develop and implement effective marketing strategies for products such as appliqué items, jute bags, namkeen/snacks, millet and chhatu powders, phenyl, and animal feed.
•Identify potential markets, distributors, retailers, and institutional buyers.
•Facilitate product promotion through exhibitions, local fairs, digital platforms, and branding initiatives.
•Support packaging, labeling, and pricing strategies to enhance product competitiveness.

3.Business Development & Market Linkages
•Build partnerships with government departments, private companies, wholesalers, ande-commerce platforms.
•Explore bulk orders and forward linkages for sustained market demand.
•Conduct market surveys to identify consumer preferences and emerging opportunities.

4.Financial Management & Reporting
•Monitor sales revenue, operational costs, and profitability of each production unit.
•Maintain transparent financial records, invoices, and sales registers.
•Prepare monthly sales and operational performance reports for submission to the Project Manager.

5.Supply Chain & Logistics
•Manage the supply chain of raw materials, production inputs, and finished goods.
•Coordinate logistics for storage, transportation, and distribution of products.
•Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.

6.Branding & Communication
•Develop brand identity and marketing materials for FPO products.
•Ensure consistent visibility through social media, local media, and community platforms.
•Collect customer feedback for continuous product improvement.

7.Coordination & Reporting
•Work closely with the Project Manager for planning, decision-making, and performance review.
•Participate in project review meetings and share market insights.
•Ensure compliance with project and FPO operational guidelines.

Salary Range: Between Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 45,000/- per month
