Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is looking for a field-oriented Sales & Business Development Coordinator to drive the input business through Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and farmer networks. This role focuses on promoting, selling, and scaling agricultural inputs—including seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers—while strengthening market linkages and dealership partnerships for FPOs.
The position involves extensive travel, hands-on market development, and close coordination with FPO leadership, farmers, and input supply companies. The ideal candidate will have strong field sales experience, the ability to close volume-driven deals, and the communication skills needed to influence adoption at the grassroots level.
Key Responsibilities
Input Sales & Market Development
- Travel extensively to drive field-based sales and market development activities.
- Promote agricultural input business (seeds, pesticides, fertilizers) through FPOs and farmer networks.
- Support adoption of quality inputs by farmers through demonstrations, meetings, and field engagement.
Dealership & Partner Coordination
- Facilitate and secure input dealership tie-ups for FPOs with input supply companies.
- Liaise with input manufacturers, distributors, and dealers to support supply chain coordination.
Sales Execution & Volume Management
- Manage and support sales volumes ranging from 10 to 50 tons of agricultural inputs.
- Ensure smooth execution of sales orders, delivery coordination, and on-ground follow-up.
FPO Engagement & Coordination
- Work closely with FPOs to drive product sales and ensure smooth coordination across procurement, sales, and distribution.
- Support FPO teams in planning seasonal input demand and sales strategies.
Qualifications
Mandatory
- Proven experience in core field sales within the agriculture sector.
- Hands-on experience selling seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers.
Education
- Graduate in any discipline; candidates with an Agriculture background will be preferred.
Language
- Fluency in spoken English, Hindi, and Bengali is mandatory.
Other Requirements
- Strong communication, convincing, and persuasion skills.
- High willingness to travel extensively for field-based sales activities.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, FPOs, and input partners.
- Comfortable working in target-driven and field-intensive environments.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Google Sheets, and basic reporting tools.
Compensation
Monthly remuneration of Rs 35,000 – Rs 40,000, depending on experience and sales capability.
Reporting To
Project Manager
Travel Requirements
Extensive and continuous travel required for sales, market development, and stakeholder engagement.
