Responsibilities of Project Manager – Migrant Children Project
1. Project Planning & Implementation
• Oversee the day-to-day implementation of all project activities in alignment with the project plan and donor requirements.
• Coordinate with outreach staff, subject teachers, and the counsellor to ensure timely and quality delivery of services to children, youth, and families.
• Ensure smooth functioning of the Learning and Learning Centre, including supervision of schedules, curriculum, and resource management.
2. Staff Supervision & Capacity Building
• Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to outreach staff, teachers, and other project personnel.
• Organise and facilitate regular team meetings to review progress, challenges, and action plans.
• Identify staff training needs and coordinate capacity-building sessions on child rights, education, gender, life skills, and relevant government schemes.
3. Monitoring & Evaluation
• Ensure proper collection, verification, and consolidation of data from outreach staff for monitoring purposes.
• Track project indicators and outcomes against the target and prepare progress reports.
• Conduct periodic field visits to assess quality and effectiveness of project interventions.
4. Stakeholder Coordination & Networking
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, panchayats, schools, and local NGOs for effective service delivery.
• Represent the project in interface meetings, advocacy events, and external forums.
• Facilitate collaboration with departments such as Education, Social Welfare, Labour Welfare, and Women & Child Development to secure entitlements for beneficiaries.
5. Community Mobilisation & Awareness
• Lead the planning and execution of community awareness meetings on education, child protection, nutrition, and livelihood opportunities.
• Ensure active participation of community members, child clubs, and youth groups in project activities and decision-making.
6. Donor, Partner & Reporting Requirements
• Coordinate donor visits and prepare necessary briefing materials.
• Ensure timely submission of progress, financial, and narrative reports to the management and donor.
• Maintain proper documentation of all activities, outcomes, and success stories.
7. Financial & Resource Management
• Monitor project budgets in coordination with the accounts team to ensure spending is within approved limits.
• Authorise and track project expenses in compliance with organisational and donor policies.
• Ensure procurement and maintenance of materials and assets as per the budget plan.
8. Safeguarding & Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to the organisation’s Child Protection Policy and safeguarding measures during all activities.
• Promote gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches across the project.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Director or senior management.
