As we scale our programmes and outreach, we are looking for a storyteller and strategist to lead our digital presence.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Social Media & Communications Expert will be responsible for managing and growing Sachhi Saheli's digital presence across all platforms. This is a full-time, hands-on role suited for someone who is social-media-obsessed, a strong writer, and passionate about using digital tools to drive real-world impact. Beyond the metrics and platforms, we are looking for someone who genuinely connects with our mission and has the sensitivity and skills to translate them into powerful digital narratives. If you believe that a single story, told right, can shift perspectives and move people to act, this role is for you.

You will work closely with the programme and leadership teams to translate our on-ground work into compelling content that informs, inspires our audience and engages potential individual and institutional donors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management
Plan, create, and publish content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, and YouTube.
Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, and milestones.
Manage community engagement -- respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely manner.
Monitor analytics and submit monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations
Content Creation
Write compelling captions, blogs, and campaign copy in the organisation's tone of voice
Plan, write, and publish a monthly newsletter that keeps donors, volunteers, and followers informed and connected to the organisation's mission.
Create or coordinate graphics, reels, and short-form videos for each platform.
Document field work, volunteer stories, and programme impact through photo and written narratives
Maintain SEO-friendly content on the website and digital publications
Communications & PR
Draft and distribute press releases, donor updates, and stakeholder newsletters
Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communication channels
Support fundraising and awareness campaigns with targeted digital content
Liaise with programme teams to highlight beneficiary stories and ground-level impact




Strategy & Reporting
Contribute to the annual communications strategy and quarterly reviews
Research trends in the NGO/social sector space and benchmark against peer organisations


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
2-3 years of demonstrated experience managing social media for a brand, NGO, or organisation
Strong written communication skills in English; knowledge of a regional language is a plus
Strong social media storytelling skills -- ability to turn on-ground stories, beneficiary experiences, and programme impact into compelling, emotionally driven digital content.
Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design tools
Working knowledge of social media analytics platforms (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics, YouTube Studio)
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines


Desirable
Experience using LinkedIn to grow an organisation's visibility, build relationships with donors and corporates, and actively pursue CSR and funding opportunities.
Prior experience in the non-profit or development sector
Basic video editing skills (Reels editor, or similar)
Familiarity with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Zoho, or similar)
Photography or visual storytelling skills
