ABOUT THE JOB
The incumbent would be the on-the-ground focal point for the implementation of the project “Improving Pre School Education in Anganwadi Centers in SPSR Nellore District.
The position will have to undertake all the project related activities and ensure coordination between Anganwadi centers, government, communities and Plan India program team for smooth execution of gender transformative programs aligned with Plan India’ purpose of ensuring Girls are empowered to take actions and get equal.
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct assessment of Anganwadi centers for upgradation as per agreed project guidelines.
• Close co-ordination/consultation with Anganwadi staff, parents and WCD department officials for assessment and identification of needs for upgradation of Anganwadi centers.
• To study, observe the already existing model child friendly anganwadi designs of the government and document best practices.
• Prepare Detailed Project implementation Plans, estimates, drawings, BOQs and other documents required for tender process.
• Support project team in discussions with potential vendors, contractors for clarification of tender documents and required work.
• Orientation and technical support to contractors both before the start and during execution/upgradation of Anganwadi centers.
• Monitoring visits to Anganwadi centers to ensure quality upgradation is being carried out in alignment with approved BOQs/designs and correct materials are used.
• Maintain M-Books for each anganwadis.
• Quality Assurance as per guidelines and regular reporting to line manager on status of work.
• Documentation of upgradation of work through taking photographs- Before, during and after work completion.
• Check quality, brand of materials during upgradation of anganwadis are correct as per approved BOQs/estimates/designs/drawings etc.
• Assess and certify the completion of the renovation/ upgradation work-based quality assurance and safety standards agreed upon.
• Ensure and abide by all the policies and guidelines of Plan India during the contract period.
• Any other work as assigned by the line manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum BE/diploma in Civil Engineering.
• At least 2 years of work experience in civil construction projects.
• Preference will be given to candidates who live in the local community with relevant work experience.
• Experience of dealing with Civil contractors and undertaking construction activities.
