Job Summary:
The District Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and monitoring project activities at the district level, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. The role involves team management, stakeholder engagement, financial oversight, monitoring and reporting, while ensuring compliance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
• Master's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, or any other related field.
• 4–5 years of progressive experience in the health and nutrition sector, including demonstrated experience in programme/project management, particularly in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and adolescent health and nutrition.
• Good understanding of government programmes and policies, and their implications from a gender and rights-based perspective.
• Excellent communication skills in Kannada, Hindi and English. Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage.
• Experience in project data management, monitoring, evaluation, documentation, and reporting.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Implementation:
• Lead and support the district team in implementing project activities as per approved plans.
• Implement community-based interventions and adapt project strategies based on field realities while adhering to budgetary and organisational guidelines.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, provide mentoring, and ensure quality implementation.
Team Leadership and HR Supervision:
• Recruit, train, and supervise field staff within delegated authority.
• Assign responsibilities, resolve conflicts, and address performance-related issues.
• Ensure effective coordination among field staff, monitoring teams, and finance teams.
Financial and Operational Oversight:
• Manage district-level expenditures within approved budgets.
• Facilitate procurement and resource allocation according to project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and timely settlement of accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
• Represent the organisation in meetings with government departments (such as Health and Social Welfare), donors, and civil society partners.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local authorities and community stakeholders.
• Advocate for project objectives at the district level.
• Negotiate collaborations within the project mandate.
Monitoring, Reporting and Compliance:
• Prepare and submit periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, and as required), including MIS updates.
• Document case studies, success stories, and best practices for organisational learning.
• Address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as required.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Head Office.
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager.

• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in the local language.

• Excellent coordination, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned district/block.
• Working knowledge of Hindi will be preferred to facilitate coordination with the Finance and HR teams.
Salary: The salary for the District Coordinator position will range between INR 35,000 and INR 40,000 per month, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
