Shri Ganesh Vinayak Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Program Coordinator to support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of field-level project activities across Chhattisgarh.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
• Graduate degree in any discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience working with an NGO or in a relevant development project.
• Good understanding of government schemes and experience in coordinating with government departments at the field level.
• Proficiency in Hindi is essential; working knowledge of Chhattisgarhi and English is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Possession of a personal two-wheeler with a valid driving licence.
• Willingness to travel regularly within project villages, as the position requires extensive fieldwork.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Program Coordinator
1. Regularly meet with the CMHO, District Nodal Officer (Eye), and District Program Officer to share updates and exchange relevant information.
2. Initiate and facilitate the signing of MoUs with new districts under the DBCS scheme and ensure the timely renewal of existing MoUs.
3. Regularly coordinate with Vision Centre optometrists to review, verify, and validate programmatic data and reports.
4. Conduct regular field visits and interact with surgical patients to obtain feedback on services, monitor service uptake, and identify areas for improvement.
5. Coordinate with Vision Centre optometrists for the identification, documentation, and timely collection of patient case stories and success stories.
6. Strengthen the hospital’s relationship with the community by actively engaging with local stakeholders, including Sarpanches, Ward Members, Government Ophthalmic Assistants, and other community leaders.
7. Organize community-based eye screening camps and ensure the timely referral and transportation of diagnosed patients to the tertiary care hospital for appropriate treatment.
8. Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of community outreach and eye care programs.
9. Maintain accurate records, prepare periodic reports, and submit program updates to the management and relevant government authorities as required.
10. Perform any other duties assigned by the management in support of the hospital’s community eye health and outreach initiatives.
