1. About PHIA Foundation
Partnering Hope Into Action Foundation (PHIA Foundation) was officially registered in 2005. Since 2015, it has significantly expanded its operations across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Ladakh, and Delhi NCR. PHIA Foundation works towards building a society free from poverty, exclusion, and discrimination where every individual lives with dignity, justice, and equal opportunity.
Under the current project supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan, PHIA Foundation is working towards strengthening resilient and sustainable livelihood systems for vulnerable tribal communities in Nubra Valley, Ladakh.
2. Project Background
PHIA Foundation is implementing the project:
“Towards Resilient Futures: Sustainable & Holistic Development of Tribal Communities in the Nubra Region, Ladakh”
As part of the livelihood and value-addition initiative, PHIA Foundation proposes to establish a Sea-Buckthorn Processing Unit at Sumoor Village, Nubra Valley, Ladakh to support:
- Local sea-buckthorn growers
- Women SHGs
- Local value addition and entrepreneurship
The unit shall process sea-buckthorn berries into pulp
3. Objective of Procurement
The objective of this RFQ is to procure, transport, install, test, and commission food-grade machinery and equipment required for a small-scale commercial Sea-Buckthorn Processing Unit.
4. Scope of Work
The selected vendor shall be responsible for:
- Supply of all machinery and equipment
- Transportation to Sumoor, Nubra Valley, Leh-Ladakh
- Installation & commissioning
- Testing and trial run
- Operator training for local staff
- One-year warranty support
- After-sales service and technical assistance
