JOB DESCRIPTION
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) India, is an independent humanitarian and development agency, engaging in sustainable development and disaster response programs for economically deprived and socially marginalized people in India. ADRA India is a part of the ADRA global network (www.adra.org), of humanitarian and development organization. ADRA’s nine global impact areas include Livelihood, agriculture, Child welfare, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Community Health, Disaster Response, Economic Growth, Hunger & Nutrition, Social Justice, and Gender Equity. ADRA India has developed its expertise within this framework under the thematic areas of humanitarian response and protection, empowered communities, health and nutrition, and their various subsectors and country-specific approaches.
Position: Field Officer
Reports to: Project Officer

Role Purpose
Field Officers are the frontline of the REAR pilot. They mobilise the community, engage and support beneficiaries, facilitate training, and carry out day-to-day field monitoring, ensuring that beneficiaries are reached, trained, financially included and supported throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community mobilisation and engagement:
- Conduct community mapping of target lanes and mobilise and sensitise rickshaw-pulling households; engage rickshaw unions and lane leaders.
- Operate and publicise the complaint and feedback mechanism (the woman Field Officer serving as focal point for women’s grievances).
2. Beneficiary identification and surveys:
- Carry out baseline and endline household surveys and support transparent beneficiary identification and selection (including buffer units), verifying documentation.
3. Installation support:
- Support installation camps — beneficiary call-up, attendance, handover formalities and post-installation orientation; log technical issues for the helpline.
4. Training and financial inclusion:
- Facilitate e-kit operation and maintenance training (two batches, including a women-friendly batch) and financial-literacy sessions; support Jan Dhan account opening and bank linkage.
- Facilitate government welfare scheme enrolment with NULM and banking partners and provide handholding for documentation and loan applications.
5. RMSG and savings:
- Support RMSG formation and committee election, savings collection and record-keeping, and governance training.
6. Monitoring and documentation:
- Conduct monthly field monitoring and trip/income tracking; collect photographs, case studies and consent; maintain field records and registers.
7. Safeguarding and conduct
- Uphold safeguarding, do-no-harm principles and ADRA’s Code of Conduct in all interactions with the community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or diploma with strong relevant experience) in social work, social sciences, rural/urban development or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ community field experience — mobilisation, household surveys, training facilitation — preferably with marginalised urban communities.
- Fluency in Hindi and working English; familiarity with the Old Delhi / Chandni Chowk context is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and comfort with field work in dense urban lanes.
- Basic data collection (mobile or paper surveys), record-keeping and MS Office basics.
- Empathy, gender sensitivity and patience, with the ability to work with low-literacy beneficiaries.
- Knowledge of government welfare schemes is desirable.
- Willingness to take any other responsibilities given by the organisation

ADRA India will carry out a comprehensive background and reference check. This will encompass an evaluation of the individual's professional conduct, safeguarding practices, and overall work ethics
