Finance Officer – Delhi Office (HQ)

The Hunger Project (THP) India is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Officer for its Office in Delhi.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management, accounting, budgeting, grant management, statutory compliance, and financial reporting. The role requires extensive experience in financial operations within the development sector and a thorough understanding of Indian regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounting and financial reporting in accordance with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
Oversee grant financial management, including donor reporting and compliance.
Ensure timely filing and compliance with TDS, Income Tax, FCRA, and other statutory regulations.
Maintain strong internal financial controls and support audits.
Coordinate with national and state teams to ensure sound financial management and compliance.
Prepare financial analyses, reports, and communications for management and donors.
Coordinate with teams across states to ensure consistent implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

Postgraduate degree in Commerce (M.Com) or an equivalent qualification. Professional qualifications such as CA (Inter), or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably with national and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
Demonstrated expertise in accounting, budgeting, grant management, FCRA compliance, Income Tax, TDS, and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and reports independently.
High standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
