ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The project aims to improve the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of women and children during the critical first 1,000 days from conception to a child’s second birthday by enhancing access to quality growth monitoring, immunization, and nutrition services. This effort is expected to reduce malnutrition, improve birth outcomes, and support better early childhood development. To achieve this, the project focuses on strengthening maternal health and nutrition during pregnancy through better access to quality antenatal care and promotion of appropriate dietary practices; promoting optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices such as early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding, along with timely complementary feeding; and reinforcing community systems and behaviours related to hygiene and access to government health and nutrition entitlements to ensure sustained improvements in maternal and child health outcomes.
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Project Planning & Implementation :
• Prepare detailed implementation plans, timelines, and activity schedules.
• Ensure smooth execution of all project activities as per approved objectives and targets.
• Coordinate with field teams for timely delivery of interventions.
2. Team Management & Supervision :
• Lead, guide, and monitor project staff, facilitators, and community mobilizers.
• Conduct regular review meetings and provide technical support to the team.
• Ensure staff capacity building and performance management.
3. Stakeholder Coordination :
• Liaise with government departments, schools, community leaders, CSR partners, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Build strong community engagement and partnerships for effective project implementation.
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation :
• Track project progress against indicators and deliverables.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports with qualitative and quantitative data.
• Maintain proper documentation, case studies, success stories, and records.
5. Budget & Financial Management :
• Monitor project budget utilization and ensure expenditures remain within approved limits.
• Coordinate with finance teams for timely submission of bills, vouchers, and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and donor financial guidelines.
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance :
• Ensure activities are implemented as per donor guidelines, organizational standards, and safeguarding policies.
• Monitor quality of interventions and recommend corrective actions where required.
7. Community Mobilization & Outreach :
• Support awareness campaigns, trainings, workshops, and community events.
• Ensure active participation of beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
8. MIS & Data Management :
• Ensure accurate data collection, verification, and timely MIS updates.
• Analyze project data for decision-making and reporting purposes.
9. Risk Management & Problem Solving :
• Identify implementation challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
• Address operational issues in coordination with senior management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Rural Development, or a related field
• Additional certifications or training in maternal and child health, nutrition, or program management are desirable
Minimum Experience:
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience in public health, nutrition, or development programs
• At least 3–5 years in a leadership or project management role
• Proven experience in implementing programs related to maternal and child health, especially antenatal care (ANC), immunization, and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
• Experience working with government systems (e.g., health departments, ICDS, NHM) and understanding of public health schemes
• Demonstrated experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects and partnerships
• Experience in supervising teams, capacity building, and field-level program implementation
• Strong background in monitoring & evaluation (M&E), data analysis, and reporting
• Experience in managing donor-funded projects, including budgeting and compliance
Preferred Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to use data for decision-making and adaptive program management
• Problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities
• Familiarity with community-based approaches and behavior change communication (BCC)
