Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) is a registered non-profit organization that was established in 1985, to serve Persons afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS), caregivers and their family at large. With 9 chapters (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune & Trivandrum) and 3500 registered members, MSSI works to improve the quality of life of persons with MS, providing services such as Medicine support, Home Nursing care, Physiotherapy, Scholarship etc. MSSI is also advocating for the Rights and entitlement of PwMS at the State and National level.
About Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis (MS), recognized as a disability in India for the first time under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, is a debilitating degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. Presently incurable, MS usually manifests during the prime of life in women and men, its prevalence in women being twice that of men. In India, roughly 145,800 people are estimated to have MS (source MS Atlas). The number may be much more because unfortunately there is no data or source to refer to for correct numbers.
About the Project
Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) with the support of Azim Premji Foundation is implementing a 3 years project (June 2026 – May 2029) at 3 locations Nagpur, Indore, and Coimbatore. The aim of this project is to support PwMS (Persons living with Multiple Sclerosis) with direct medical interventions and advocate for their rights and entitlements to improve their quality of life.
Role and Responsibilities of the Project Manager
• Lead the implementation and monitoring of project activities across Indore, Nagpur, and Coimbatore, ensuring timely execution in line with the project plan.
• Coordinate closely with the Mumbai, Indore, and Chennai Chapters to ensure seamless project delivery and effective communication.
• Collect, compile, and maintain beneficiary data across all project locations, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Conduct regular home visits to beneficiaries to monitor progress, assess needs, and provide project support.
• Identify and screen new Persons with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS) for medical assistance and other support under the project.
• Plan and organize workshops, awareness sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities as per the project implementation plan.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, NGOs, healthcare institutions, and neurologists to strengthen project impact.
• Promote awareness of Multiple Sclerosis through the distribution of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials at healthcare facilities and community platforms.
• Support the development and execution of project strategies in consultation with the Reporting Manager.
• Prepare high-quality donor reports, project updates, dashboards, and other documentation within defined timelines.
• Track project progress, organize review meetings, identify implementation challenges, and escalate critical issues when required.
• Prepare monthly payment summaries for medicines and physiotherapy services and submit them for review and approval.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and implementation trackers to ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
• Travel regularly to project locations to monitor implementation, engage with stakeholders, and provide on-ground project support.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager to support the successful delivery of the project.
Location: Indore, MP
Education/Experience:
• Qualification in the relevant field
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in implementing Disability, Health, or similar projects.
Skills and Competencies

• Good communication skills in English
Travel Requirement:
Extensive local travel is required in Indore. Candidates having their own two-wheeler and a valid driving license will be preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time to other project locations (Nagpur and Coimbatore) as required for implementing the project efficiently.
Remuneration: Upto 40,000 per month (The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history)
