About the Project
Aide et Action (India) is implementing the Migration Education Project in Maner Block of Patna, Bihar, to support migrant children and their families living at brick kilns. The project focuses on providing children with safe spaces, education, nutrition, healthcare, recreation and support for enrolment and reintegration into schools and Anganwadi Centres.
The project will establish and operate 23 Child Care and Learning Centres (CCLCs) across 58 brick kilns and strengthen linkages with migrant families, schools, Anganwadi Centres, health services and government departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination of the project.
- Supervise and guide project staff and ensure effective implementation of field activities.
- Ensure timely establishment and effective functioning of CCLCs.
- Monitor project activities through regular visits to CCLCs, brick kilns and communities.
- Coordinate with government departments, schools, Anganwadi Centres, PHCs and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with brick-kiln owners and management to create a supportive environment for migrant families and children's education.
- Lead school enrolment, retention and reintegration efforts for migrant children at destination and source locations.
- Ensure achievement of project targets and quality standards.
- Oversee project expenditure and coordinate with the Project Accountant for budget and financial management.
- Ensure timely and quality submission of monthly, quarterly and other project reports.
- Coordinate baseline, end-line, surveys, situational analysis and other studies as required.
- Regularly update the Regional Office on project progress, achievements, challenges and support required.
- Document project learnings, good practices and case stories.
- Undertake other responsibilities assigned by the Programme Officer or Regional Office.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, Education, Management or a related field.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in development/social sector programmes, preferably involving education, migration, child development or community-based programmes.
- Experience in managing field teams and coordinating with government departments and other stakeholders.
- Experience in project planning, monitoring, documentation and reporting.
- Experience in managing project budgets and financial processes will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong project planning, coordination and team management skills.
- Good understanding of field-level programme implementation and monitoring.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Good command of Hindi and English, both written and spoken.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with government departments, communities and other stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly within project areas and districts.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Rs.35,000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.
