About DITO Social Welfare Association
DITO Social Welfare Association is a Section 8 non-profit working across Howrah, Bankura, Purulia, South 24 Parganas and Kolkata on community health, education, livelihoods and environment-linked programmes at the grassroots level. DITO's work is sustained through CSR partnerships, institutional donors and community goodwill, all of which depend on strong public visibility, relationship-building and consistent, credible communication.
Position Summary
The PR & Communications Executive will be the public-facing voice of DITO, responsible for building and sustaining relationships that bring in CSR funding, positioning DITO prominently through observance of important days and public events, and strengthening DITO's presence in schools through structured liaison and event partnerships. The role combines fundraising-oriented relationship management with hands-on event execution and communications.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
1. Mobilisation of CSR Funds
- Identify, research and build a pipeline of prospective CSR donors (corporates, foundations, trusts) aligned with DITO's programme areas.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate CSR teams, including regular follow-ups, site visits and relationship-building meetings.
- Prepare compelling CSR pitch decks, concept notes and organisational profiles in coordination with the programmes team.
- Track CSR outreach in a structured pipeline/CRM, and report progress, conversions and pending follow-ups to the Director.
- Support CSR partners with the visibility, documentation and reporting they need to sustain and renew funding.
2. Observation of Important Days Through Events
- Plan and execute DITO's calendar of important-day observances (e.g., International Women's Day, World Environment Day, Independence Day, National Girl Child Day, and similar) through on-ground and digital events.
- Conceptualise event themes, activities and messaging that reinforce DITO's programme focus areas and brand visibility.
- Coordinate logistics, vendors, invitees and on-ground volunteers for each event.
- Capture event documentation (photos, videos, write-ups) for use in reports, social media and donor communication.
- Use these events as visibility and relationship-building touch points with donors, partners and the community.
3. Liaison with Schools for Various Events
- Build and maintain relationships with schools across DITO's operational areas for collaborative events, competitions, workshops and awareness drives.
- Coordinate end-to-end planning and execution of school-based events, including scheduling, permissions, materials and on-ground coordination.
- Act as DITO's primary point of contact for partner schools and educational institutions.
- Explore opportunities to formalise school partnerships (MOUs, recurring engagements) that support DITO's education and outreach goals.
4. Communications & Brand Visibility (supporting)
- Manage DITO's social media channels and website content, ensuring consistent, timely and on-brand messaging.
- Draft press releases, newsletters and donor communication material; build and maintain media relationships.
- Support the development of DITO's annual report and other flagship communication material.
- Maintain a consistent visual and messaging identity for DITO across all public-facing material.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in PR, communications, CSR fundraising, or event/institutional liaison, ideally in the non-profit or CSR space.
- Demonstrated experience in donor/corporate relationship management or fundraising outreach.
- Experience planning and executing public events, campaigns or school-based programmes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms, basic content/design tools (e.g., Canva) and MS Office.
- Willingness to travel locally for events, donor meetings and school visits.

- Persuasive communication and relationship-building, particularly with corporates and institutions.
- Strong event planning and on-ground execution skills.
- Creativity in campaign and content ideation, paired with attention to detail in execution.
- Networking ability and comfort representing DITO in external, public-facing settings.
- Self-driven and target-oriented, particularly toward CSR mobilisation goals.
