Chhattisgarh Prachar Evam Vikas Sansthan (CGPVS) is implementing a Targeted Intervention (TI) Programme for Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) with support from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Chhattisgarh State AIDS Control Society (CGSACS).

The programme focuses on reducing the risk and transmission of HIV and other blood-borne infections among people who inject drugs through a comprehensive, community-based harm-reduction and prevention approach.

Key Programme Interventions

The programme includes:

Identification and registration of Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) in the intervention area.
Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) and HIV/AIDS prevention awareness.
Provision of Needle-Syringe Programme (NSP) services and promotion of safe injecting practices.
Promotion and linkage to Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) services.
HIV testing, counselling and referral/linkage to appropriate health services.
Screening and referral for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other health concerns.
Condom distribution and promotion of safer sexual practices.
Support for wound/abscess management and referral for medical care.
Linkage of HIV-positive beneficiaries with ART Centres and other relevant healthcare services.
Follow-up of beneficiaries and support for treatment adherence and continuity of care.
Community outreach, peer-led interventions and regular field-level follow-up.
Coordination with government health facilities, ART Centres, OST Centres, ICTCs and other stakeholders.
Maintenance of programme records, MIS, beneficiary documentation and regular reporting as per programme requirements.

Role of Programme Manager-
The Programme Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, supervision and monitoring of the TI programme. The position will involve regular field visits, supervision of outreach activities, coordination with peer educators and outreach workers, monitoring of programme targets and indicators, documentation, reporting and coordination with CGSACS/NACO and relevant government departments.

The Programme Manager will also ensure that beneficiaries are appropriately linked with HIV testing, ART, OST and other required health and social support services.

Salary: 21,000/- per month

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum MSW (Master of Social Work) or M.A. in Sociology.
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the social development/NGO sector.
Experience in programme implementation, field coordination, community mobilisation and reporting will be preferred.
Good communication, coordination and documentation skills.
Ability to work with government departments, community stakeholders and partner organisations.
Willingness to undertake field visits as required.
