Job Description
Chaitanya is looking for a Senior Social Coordinator to support gender and social development programs at the community level. The role involves strengthening systems and processes, coordinating with government departments, and conducting awareness programs related to women’s rights, legal provisions, and gender equality.
The candidate will work closely with women groups, community institutions, schools, and local stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation and outreach to vulnerable groups.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Establish and monitor systems and processes to achieve project outcomes.
• Ensure quality implementation of project activities, including work by active Jankars and outreach to vulnerable groups such as adolescent girls, migrant women, and socially vulnerable women.
• Create awareness about laws and rights for women at schools, SHG, and federation levels.
• Coordinate with Police Station, Sakhi Centre, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), and Protection Officers.
• Raise awareness about legal rights and government support systems among women at the block level.
• Help women understand laws and legal provisions relevant to their rights and safety.
• Facilitate the formation of Internal Committees under the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act at school level.
• Plan and conduct awareness sessions in schools on topics such as Good Touch and Bad Touch.
• Conduct sessions with boys and girls in schools on safety, respect, and gender sensitivity.
• Identify key issues at the departmental and community level and plan programs to address them.
• Facilitate safe and inclusive platforms at village or block level where women can openly discuss issues and concerns.
• Establish and maintain coordination with local institutions, departments, and organizations.
• Plan and organize joint programs and awareness activities at the village and block level.
• Organize awareness programs on legal provisions and government schemes based on community needs.
• Facilitate discussions with women on social issues and empowerment topics.
• Present structured reviews and reports of program activities at the collective level.
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, or related field.
• Experience working with women groups, SHGs, or community institutions.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work closely with community members and local stakeholders.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in social development, community mobilization, or NGO projects.
Salary
Rs 25,000 – Rs 30,000 per month
