Karuna Evam Shanti Vahini (KeSV) Foundation (www.karunashanti.in) supports the design and implementation of interventions in public health that address inequities within communities, focusing on marginalized populations. Our approach is to identify and nurture leadership within the community to respond to distress arising from health suffering, and to facilitate referrals to next levels of care and follow up. We are commencing a project in Uttarakhand providing home-based palliative care to the chronically-ill.

About the position
This is a full-time position based in Uttarakhand. The candidate will work from home to start with. Internet connectivity and comfort with virtual meetings (zoom, google meet etc) would be essential. The candidate will report to the Core Team based Delhi/ Mumbai. Adequate training on palliative care will be provided. The position will be based in Dehradun, and work would involve travel within the district/ state. The candidate needs to have management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

-Master’s Degree in Social Science/Social Work/Development Studies/ Programme Management or a related field
-Minimum of 5-7 years work experience in the development sector including holding managerial positions
-Experience in public health/palliative care programmes will be an advantage
-Experience of working with a range of state and district level stakeholders, including as a
primary point of contact with government and private sector (CSR) functionaries
-Good knowledge of government health policies and guidelines
-Excellent writing skills and experience in programme documentation
-Excellent knowledge of MS–Office
-Fluency in Hindi and English is needed. Knowledge of local dialect will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

-Set up, plan and manage implementation of a home-based palliative care programme in identified districts of the state
-Develop and support systems to enhance the programme, including but not limited to annual/quarterly work plans, implementation schedules, and budgets
-Mentor the field team in their work of providing home-based care to chronically-ill patients
and supporting their caregivers. Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
-Provide oversight to the Team Lead(s) to ensure quality of care, updated record-keeping,
and accuracy of reporting
-Co-ordinate with KeSV Foundation consultant doctor/s and government functionaries at district and state levels in all project locations in Uttarakhand as required
-Work closely with key partners including government, NGOs, private sector (CSR) etc, and
with the Foundation's core team located in Delhi/ Mumbai
-Ensure that programme activities are in alignment with government policies and guidelines
- Support advocacy, research, communication and capacity building initiatives
-Represent KeSVF at relevant external meetings, forums and coordination platforms
-Manage documentation including case stories, monitoring and evaluation
-Manage field accounts, review and submit regular finance and patient reports. Monitor
resource utilization and ensure compliance with organizational policies
-Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, accountability, and learning
