Organisation Background
The Humsafar Trust (HST) is India’s first community-based organisation (CBO) of selfidentified gay men, men who have sex with men (MSM), Hijras, transgender, and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LBT) persons.

HST works across advocacy, health, and rights, engaging healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies, judiciary members, legislators, government bodies, media, and students to sensitise them on issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and public health. The organisation also provides legal support, crisis intervention, mental health counselling, and nutrition services to its communities.

HST’s HIV interventions are supported by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS). Through public health systems and in-house clinics, HST delivers essential HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care services to MSM and transgender communities.

Project NETREACH – Overview
Project NETREACH is a digital HIV intervention designed to reach high-risk and key populations through virtual outreach and online engagement. The project aims to bring digitally active but underserved populations into the ambit of the National HIV Programme.

NETREACH is supported by The Global Fund (GFATM), with India HIV/AIDS Alliance as the Principal Recipient.

Role Overview
The Communications Coordinator will play a central role in creating compelling digital content that supports Project NETREACH and The Humsafar Trust’s communication objectives. This is a hands-on creative role requiring strong graphic design, video editing, social media content production, and digital campaign execution skills.

The ideal candidate is someone who can conceptualize, design, edit, publish, and monitor content across platforms while coordinating with internal teams, consultants, community members, agencies, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities Design & Creative Production

• Lead the design and production of digital communication materials across platforms.

• Create:
• Social media creatives
• Infographics
• Awareness posters
• Event branding materials
• Presentations and pitch decks
• Ensure visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all communication outputs.
• Adapt communication materials into multiple formats and regional language versions as required.
• Support creative conceptualisation for campaigns, observance days, launches, and advocacy initiatives.

Video Editing & Reels Production :
• Create and edit short-form videos for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other digital platforms.
• Develop reels, testimonials.
• Edit interviews, podcasts, webinars, and community stories into engaging digital content.
• Add captions, transitions, graphics, and visual effects suitable for social media audiences.
• Coordinate with creators/influencers, and community contributors to develop multimedia content.

Social Media & Digital Communications :
• Manage day-to-day content publishing across social media platforms.
• Draft captions, content calendars, and campaign copy.
• Support community engagement and audience interaction across digital platforms.
• Track social media trends and recommend creative content formats and opportunities.
• Maintain content libraries, archives, and digital asset repositories. Communications Coordination
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, agencies, influencers, media partners, and external stakeholders.
• Support planning and execution of online and offline events, launches, workshops, and campaigns.
• Assist in preparation of reports, presentations, donor updates, and communication summaries.

Qualifications & Skills Essential :
• Minimum 2 years of experience in graphic design, digital communications, social media management, or content production.
• Present a portfolio demonstrating design and video editing work.
• Proficiency in:
o Canva
o Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or equivalent tools - a Plus
• Strong understanding of social media content formats and platform requirements.
• Experience producing reels, short-form videos, and digital campaigns.
• Excellent visual storytelling skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written communication skills for social media and digital content.
