Organization Background
MAMTA HIMC is a national-level institute of repute that has been relentlessly working for the last 30 years on Maternal and Child Health and Adolescent and Young People's Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in partnership with a wide range of organizations at local, state, national, and international levels.
Project Background
In today's rapidly evolving world, STEM education plays a critical role in preparing young learners with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the 21st century. STEM learning promotes innovation, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and scientific temperament among students.
Government schools, particularly those serving marginalized communities, often face challenges in accessing quality STEM infrastructure, hands-on learning opportunities, and teacher capacity building. To address these gaps, STEM Labs and STEM Mobile Units are being established to provide experiential and inquiry-based learning opportunities aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
To ensure effective implementation and sustainability of these interventions, a qualified STEM Education Consultant is required to provide technical guidance, develop educational resources, strengthen teacher capacity, and support students in practical STEM learning.
PURPOSE
To engage a STEM Education Consultant who will provide technical expertise and implementation support for STEM education initiatives in government schools and ensure effective utilization of STEM Labs and STEM Mobile Units.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide technical support for monitoring of STEM labs in government schools.
- To support the establishment, operationalization, and utilization of STEM Labs and STEM Mobile Units.
- To develop STEM education modules, activity manuals, science assignment booklets, and learning resources.
- To support students in designing and developing science models and STEM projects.
- To build the capacity of teachers and students through STEM trainings and hands-on learning workshops.
SCOPE OF WORK
The consultant shall undertake the following responsibilities:
STEM Education Implementation Support
- Provide technical guidance and monitoring support for establishment of STEM labs in government schools.
STEM Labs and Mobile STEM Units
- Support the design and establishment of STEM Labs.
- Provide technical guidance and monitoring on STEM equipment and materials for STEM mobile unit.
- Develop user manuals and operational guidelines.
Development of STEM Learning Resources
- Prepare science assignment booklets and activity-based learning resources.
Capacity Building
- Conduct STEM training programs for teachers.
- Organize STEM workshops for students.
- Develop training content, presentations, manuals, and assessment tools.
ASSIGNMENT DURATION
The assignment shall be undertaken from July 2026 to February 2027 for a total engagement period of 8 months and 40 working days.
DELIVERABLES
The consultant shall submit:
- Develop SOP for monitoring of STEM lab.
- STEM Lab and Mobile STEM Unit Establishment Support Plan.
- STEM Education Modules and Learning Resources.
- Science Assignment Booklets.
- Teacher Training Materials and Toolkits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualification
Master's Degree in Science, Engineering, Education, STEM Education, Technology Education, or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in STEM education, science education, innovation, robotics, tinkering labs, or experiential learning programs.
- Experience working with government schools and education departments.
- Experience in developing STEM curricula, modules, and learning materials.
- Experience in conducting teacher training and student workshops.
- Experience in setting up STEM Labs, Innovation Labs, ATL Labs, or similar facilities will be preferred.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All information, documents, reports, training materials, modules, manuals, photographs, videos, and any other outputs developed under this consultancy shall remain the sole property of MAMTA HIMC. The consultant shall not use or disclose any project-related information without prior written approval.
PAYMENT TERMS
- The consultant shall be engaged based on the approved financial proposal.
- Payments shall be linked to agreed deliverables and timelines and will be released upon satisfactory submission and approval of deliverables and invoices.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
Technical Proposal and Experience – 80%
- Relevant STEM Education Experience.
- Understanding of Assignment.
- Quality of Methodology and Approach.
- Experience with Government School Interventions.
- Experience in Teacher Training and STEM Lab Establishment.
- Resource Development and Innovation.
Financial Proposal – 20%
- Cost effectiveness and value for money.
