Position: Regional VBDC Coordinator
Location: Gadchiroli District, Maharashtra
Reporting to: State VBDC lead (CHRI), In district – District Health Officer and District Malaria Officer.

CHRI is currently recruiting three Regional Vector Borne Disease (VBD) Coordinators to support the control and prevention of dengue and chikungunya, as well as the elimination of malaria in the state of Maharashtra. These positions will be based in Aurangabad, Gadchiroli, and Ratnagiri.
The Regional VBD Coordinators will work under the supervision of the State VBD Coordinator and will provide technical support for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs aimed at dengue and chikungunya prevention and malaria elimination at the divisional, municipal corporation, and district levels.
1. Purpose of the Role
To provide technical and programmatic support for the elimination of malaria and the prevention and control of malaria and dengue in Gadchiroli district, under the guidance of the State VBDC Coordinator, while ensuring strong coordination with government stakeholders and partners.
2. Key Role & Responsibilities:
A. Technical Support & Program Implementation:
• Provide technical assistance for malaria elimination and dengue prevention and control activities across the district.
• Support the preparation and implementation of district-level action plans, especially in endemic blocks.
• Ensure quality execution of program interventions in alignment with state and national guidelines.
B. Strategy Development & Planning:
• Contribute to the development of district-level strategies for malaria elimination.
• Identify programmatic gaps through field insights and data analysis and recommend appropriate interventions.
C. Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Conduct regular analysis of malaria case data at district and block levels.
• Share actionable feedback with district teams to improve program performance.
• Provide timely updates and reports to the District and State VBDC Coordinator and CHRI at the state level.
D. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Maintain strong collaboration with district health authorities, program officers, and government stakeholders.
• Liaise with key stakeholders including the Divisional Commissioner, district administration, and partner organizations.
• Manage relationships with government departments and program partners to ensure smooth implementation.
E. Meetings & Communication:
• Plan, facilitate, and actively participate in meetings, trainings, and review events.
• Ensure effective stakeholder coordination and communication across all levels.
F. Field Monitoring & Supervision:
• Undertake regular field visits to endemic areas for monitoring and supportive supervision.
• Assess program implementation on the ground and provide on-site technical guidance.
G. Additional Responsibilities:
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the State VBDC Coordinator as per project requirements.
• Perform additional duties beyond malaria, as required by government priorities and program needs.
H. Representation, Governance & Institutional Coordination:
• Represent CHRI as a key member in the monthly district implementation review meetings chaired by the District Collector, Gadchiroli.
• Present comprehensive updates on monthly malaria data, program implementation progress, and the impact of ongoing interventions.
• Facilitate structured discussions on operational challenges and contribute to problem-solving for effective malaria elimination efforts.
• Act as an active member of the Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan (MMGA) Task Force, chaired by Dr. Abhay Bang.
• Participate in quarterly MMGA Task Force meetings and present organizational progress, program outcomes, and key learnings.
• Provide technical support through data analysis and evidence-based insights to inform decision-making at the Task Force level.
• Support the planning, coordination, and smooth conduct of all review and coordination meetings under MMGA.
• Maintain effective liaison and collaboration with development partners, government stakeholders, and other key institutions involved in malaria elimination efforts.
• Ensure alignment of CHRI activities with district priorities and Task Force recommendations to strengthen program impact.
I. Capacity Building & Training:
• Plan and implement capacity building initiatives for Medical Officers (MOs), Community Health Officers (CHOs), and Laboratory/Scientific Officers as per the training modules recommended by the Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan Task Force.
• Develop and execute comprehensive capacity building plans for all health cadres, including ASHAs, ANMs, MPWs, and other frontline workers.
• Prepare and manage structured training schedules in coordination with district health authorities.
• Facilitate and/or support training sessions, ensuring adherence to standard training modules and quality standards.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
J. Program Management Support to District Health Authorities:
• Provide day-to-day technical and operational support to the District Health Officer (DHO) and District Malaria Officer (DMO) for effective implementation of malaria prevention, control, and elimination activities.
• Assist in planning and execution of intervention strategies based on epidemiological trends and field requirements.
• Support the organization and facilitation of monthly review meetings, including preparation of agendas, presentations, and follow-up actions.
• Conduct regular data analysis and prepare detailed reports to guide decision-making and improve program performance.
• Provide technical support in malaria death investigations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and analysis.
• Support outbreak investigation and management at the district level, including rapid response, field assessment, data interpretation, and implementation of control measures.
• Develop and standardize reporting formats, tools, and templates for program monitoring and reporting.
• Undertake field supervision and monitoring visits to assess implementation quality and provide supportive supervision to frontline health workers.
• Monitor the performance of field staff and ensure adherence to program protocols and guidelines.
• Support the preparation and periodic revision of district and block-level action plans based on field findings and data insights.
K. Travel Requirements:
• Frequent travel to endemic blocks within Gadchiroli district for monitoring, supervision, and coordination activities.

Qualification:
MBBS, BDS, or MPH
Language Requirement (Mandatory): Marathi
Candidates must be proficient in Marathi, in addition to English and Hindi.
