CPF invites applications for the post of Project Unit Manager (PUM) for the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) Programme.
Work Location: Narsampet, Warangal District, Telangana State
Scope of Work
The PU Manager will oversee the operations of the production unit, ensuring efficient and effective implementation of BCI's sustainability standards and practices. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety regulations. The PU Manager will lead a team, supervise production processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and resource utilization. Strong leadership, project management and decision-making skills are essential for success in this role.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement annual plans aligned with Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) standards
- Coordinate with farmers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with BCI requirements and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Provide technical guidance to farmers on Integrated Pest Management (IPM), water conservation, soil health, and other sustainable farming methods.
- Monitor crop yield and quality, and recommend corrective measures to improve productivity
- Ensure timely availability of agricultural inputs and coordinate transportation of harvested cotton.
- Conduct farmer trainings, exposure visits, staff capacity-building programs and develop IEC material
- Visit project locations regularly, provide field-level recommendations
- Facilitate linkages with government departments and support farmers in accessing relevant schemes
- Conduct self-assessments, collect and report RIR data, and ensure timely submission of BCI reports and project documentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with communities, government agencies, and BCI stakeholders while promoting sustainable agriculture and social development initiatives.
- Responsible for financial and accounts management, budgeting and reporting
Qualifications Required: Masters in Agriculture / Social Sciences / Development studies / Natural Resource Management etc.,
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in agriculture/ livelihoods / rural development
Skills required: Project Implementation,Data Analysis and Documentation, Proposal writing
Desirable Skills: Proficiency in Telugu and English languages
Net Salary- Rs. 34,000/- per month. In addition, Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity and Health Insurance coverage will be provided as per organizational policy.
