Job Title: Project Coordinator cum Fisheries Expert

Location: Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh
Employment Type: Full-Time (Project-Based)
Educational Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Fisheries.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in fisheries, aquaculture, or fisheries extension services. Experience in community-based fisheries projects and field implementation will be preferred.
Salary: 20,000–25,000 per month (Negotiable based on qualifications and experience)

About the Project: The Integrated Fish Farming Project is a climate-resilient, cooperative-led initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of fish farmers in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. The project promotes scientific aquaculture, integrated fish-cum-duck farming, mobile fisheries advisory and water quality monitoring, disease surveillance, capacity building, value addition, and cooperative marketing. By strengthening the entire fisheries value chain, the project seeks to increase fish production, enhance farmers' incomes, generate rural employment, and establish a sustainable and scalable model for fisheries development.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation of scientific aquaculture and integrated fish farming activities under the project.
• Advise farmers on pond preparation, stocking density, feed management, water quality, biosecurity, and best aquaculture practices.
• Provide technical guidance and extension support to fish farmers.
• Monitor water and soil quality, fish health, and disease conditions, and recommend appropriate management practices.
• Plan and conduct farmer training programmes, demonstrations and capacity-building activities.
• Promote fish-cum-duck farming and other climate-smart aquaculture technologies.
• Coordinate with fisheries cooperatives, government departments, technical agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Support the operation of the Mobile Fisheries Advisory & Water Quality Monitoring Unit.
• Facilitate value addition, post-harvest management, branding, and market linkage activities through the Cooperative Fish Parlour.
• Maintain technical records, field data, project documentation, and periodic progress reports.
• Ensure quality implementation and compliance with project objectives, technical standards, and reporting requirements.
• Perform other project-related responsibilities assigned by the Project Director or management.

Required Skills
• Sound knowledge of aquaculture practices, fish health management, and water quality monitoring.
• Strong communication, training, and community mobilization skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field-based activities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and report writing.
• Willingness to travel extensively within project areas.
