Role Overview
The Lady Bamford Foundation runs a School Education Programme that strengthens learning in government and partner schools across four factory geographies. We are seeking an Assistant / Deputy Manager to serve as the operational anchor for this programme – ensuring interventions are delivered on the ground, on time and to the standards agreed with our Implementation Partners.
The role blends three responsibilities: hands-on oversight of day-to-day implementation, the design of new programme concepts that respond to field needs and policy priorities, and the building of partnerships that bring those concepts to scale. The right candidate is a doer who can hold partners accountable to agreements while also thinking ahead about what the programme should do next.

ROLE PURPOSE / ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Implementation & Oversight
• Oversee the end-to-end implementation of School Education interventions across assigned geographies, working closely with Project Location Leads and Knowledge / Implementation Partners.
• Ensure planned activities translate into on-ground delivery – tracking work plans, milestones and field execution against the approved programme design.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor quality of implementation, troubleshoot bottlenecks and provide on-site support to partner and field teams.
• Maintain smooth coordination between LBF, Implementation Partners, schools and local education authorities.
Timely Delivery & Agreement Compliance
• Ensure that all deliverables are met within the timelines, scope and quality standards defined in agreements (MoUs / contracts) with Implementation Partners.
• Track and review partner deliverables, milestones and reporting obligations; flag delays or deviations early and drive corrective action.
• Validate partner invoices and progress claims against agreed deliverables and verify completion before sign-off.
• Maintain accurate activity, progress and completion records to support internal review and CSR compliance.

Concept Development & Programme Design
• Develop new programme concepts and interventions grounded in field needs, evidence and national priorities (NEP 2020, NCF, NIPUN Bharat).
• Prepare concept notes, proposals and implementation plans for new or expanded School Education initiatives.
• Contribute to designing pilots and incorporate learnings into refined, scalable programme models.
• Review existing interventions and recommend improvements based on field feedback and outcome data.
Partnership Development
• Identify and engage potential Implementation and Knowledge Partners, NGOs and resource organisations to deliver the programme.
• Lead partner due diligence and support the selection, onboarding and agreement process in line with LBF’s partner engagement policy.
• Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with existing partners and government stakeholders to ensure aligned and effective delivery.
• Explore opportunities for collaboration that extend programme reach and strengthen CSR additionality.

Language Fluency
• Fluent in Hindi and English (spoken and written).

Skills and Competencies
• Strong programme-management skills – planning, milestone tracking and delivery follow-through.
• Working understanding of India’s school education landscape and policy framework (NEP 2020, NCF, NIPUN Bharat / FLN).
• Ability to draft clear concept notes, proposals and implementation plans.
• Strong relationship and stakeholder-management skills across partners, schools and government functionaries (BEO, BRC, CRC).
• Comfort with field work, problem-solving and on-ground execution.
• Good proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting tools; willingness to travel frequently.

Working Hours & Days
5 days a week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM), Candidate may have to work on Saturdays and Sundays as per job requirements.
