Position Overview
The Program Manager will provide leadership and oversight for two special school-cum-hostel facilities. The role includes supervising teacher planning and classroom improvement initiatives, ensuring quality education and child wellbeing, and managing reporting and planning activities. The position requires regular visits to Bodh Gaya to monitor and support hostel operations.

Key Responsibilities
Teacher Planning & Classroom Improvement
• Oversee teacher lesson planning and classroom management practices.
• Support teachers in implementing activity-based learning, FLN (Foundational Literacy & Numeracy), and MGML (Multi-Grade Multi-Level) approaches.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback for improvement.
• Facilitate demonstration classes and mentoring sessions to strengthen teaching practices.

Child Wellbeing & Hostel Oversight
• Monitor nutrition, hygiene, and child wellbeing within hostel facilities.
• Track student attendance, participation, and health indicators.
• Ensure inclusive practices for marginalized children.

Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare monitoring formats, progress reports, and compliance documents.
• Document success stories, case studies, and program impact.
• Maintain updated project data and share analysis with supervisors and donors.

Capacity Building & Training
• Conduct training sessions for teachers and hostel staff.
• Develop educational content, handbooks, and training modules.

Stakeholder Engagement & Planning
• Liaise with government departments, donor agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Contribute to educational planning for targeted beneficiaries.
• Identify opportunities for resource mobilization and partnerships.

State-Level Contribution
• Represent Nari Gunjan in external forums, presentations, and publications.
• Support the state technical assistance team in effective reporting and project management

Competencies
• Strong understanding of participatory community development approaches and inclusive education practices.
• In-depth knowledge of Girls’ Education issues in Bihar, with sensitivity to challenges faced by marginalized communities.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills, including preparation of case studies, success stories, and compliance reports.
• Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, internet tools, data management systems).
• Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional communication skills in Hindi and English; knowledge of local dialects is an asset.
• Demonstrated integrity, commitment, and dedication to social development and education.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess program outcomes and recommend improvements.
• Genuine interest in advancing Girls’ Education and child wellbeing.
• Physical fitness and willingness to travel/stay in remote areas, including regular visits to Bodh Gaya.

Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development/Management, Sociology, or Social Sciences.
• 5–6 years of experience in the development sector (Education, Girls’ Education, Child Wellbeing, Sanitation, etc.).
• Experience in teacher training, classroom mentoring, and module/content development.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
• Excellent communication in Hindi and English; knowledge of local dialects an asset.
• Willingness to travel and stay in remote areas independently.
• Female Candidate is more preferd.

Remuneration
The position carries an honorarium of ?45,000 per, recognizing responsibilities and the need for mobility in fulfilling project objectives.
