With a strong presence in states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi, TBAI supports the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) by engaging local communities and building partnerships to fight TB.
Position Overview
As a Field Coordinator, candidate will manage field activities aimed at upskilling youth volunteers and frontline healthcare workers (FLHCWs) to improve TB care services in urban slums. Candidate will ensure the smooth execution of project activities, coordinate field operations, and work with local stakeholders to raise TB awareness and strengthen services.
Key Responsibilities
- Map Key Facilities: Identify and map local facilities such as chemist shops, traditional medical practitioners, ASHAs, and primary healthcare workers in the target areas along with youth volunteers.
- Facilitate Training: Work with stakeholders to organize training sessions for chemists, traditional medical practitioners, ASHAs, primary healthcare workers and Youth.
- Coordinate Referrals: Collaborate with NTEP staff to improve the process of referral, diagnosis, and treatment initiation for TB patients.
- Lead Screening Initiatives: Supervise TB screening efforts led by ASHA workers during community outreach and door-to-door surveys, aligning with the Integrated Health Programme and NTEP surveys.
- Support Healthcare Providers: Help ASHA workers and other healthcare providers overcome challenges in carrying out screening and referral activities.
- Prepare Health Facilities: Ensure health facilities are ready to accept referrals and provide proper TB management services.
- Distribute Educational Materials: Share TB awareness materials and information about the Aarogya Sathi application with the community to boost engagement.
- Additional Responsibilities: Additional tasks may be assigned based on project needs.
Qualifications and Skills, and Competencies
- MSW/BSW/Graduation in any discipline or higher secondary with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in health-related field activities.
- Experience working in TB projects or similar health programs involving community engagement.
- Knowledge of grassroots TB initiatives is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate with health and TB departments at the local level.
- Good understanding of local practices and the ability to collaborate with local health facilities and slum communities.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments like as Urban Slums, youth groups/individuals and Frontline Health Care Workers.
- Proficient in using mobile phones and tablets for documentation.
- A two-wheeler with a valid driving license is essential due to the requirement of traveling for 20-22 days per month in areas with limited public transportation.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and fluency in the local language and MS Office knowledge are required.
Reporting
The Field Coordinator will report to the State Lead/Zonal Coordinator of the respective states.
Remuneration
The salary for this position will align with organizational policies and market standards. It will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with a maximum of Rs. 35,000/- (CTC) per month, subject to the last drawn salary and internal parity.
