Position: Children & Parent Programme Facilitator Organization: Vidya & Child Project Locations: Khoda Colony (Sector 62) / Sector 37 / Sector 128, Sector /49 Barola – Noida Job Type: Full-time (Monday–Saturday) Timings: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM (as assigned) About Vidya & Child Vidya & Child works with children and families from low-income and marginalized communities in and around Noida. We support each child to explore their unique potential through a rich, value-integrated education from nursery to higher education. This sustained engagement model has resulted in a dropout rate of less than 5%, gender parity within classrooms, and over 600+ alumni across 21 diverse careers. Our programme includes: • School Education Programme (Nursery–Class 8): ~1600 children • After School Support Programme (Class 9–12+): ~350 adolescents & youth • Parent Partnership Programme: Deep engagement with families to ensure long-term • educational continuity • Arts, Performing Arts & Life Skills Programme: Nursery to Class 12 Vidya & Child – A persistent effort: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbEWo4ciOT4 Role Overview The Children & Parent Programme Facilitator plays a critical role in strengthening child development, family engagement, and school continuity across the School Programme (Nursery–Class 8) and After School Support Programme (Class 9–12). Around 70% of the role involves direct child engagement, with a strong focus on socio-emotional learning, life skills, gender equity, and wellbeing. The remaining time focuses on working with parents and teachers to build consistent support around each child. Key Responsibilities 1. Child Engagement (70%) • Lead one or more classes as a Class Teacher or Group Owner, managing daily routines and overall learning environment. • Plan and facilitate Life Skills Classes (socio-emotional skills, communication, decision-making, values) • Design and deliver Gender & Sexuality education sessions to students, facilitate teacher training sessions, and engage in parent workshops. • Lead exposure visits, projects, and group activities that support confidence building and critical thinking skills in students. • Maintain child profiles, class records, and child-wise engagement trackers in Excel • Provide one-to-one support/individual counselling to children facing academic, behavioural, emotional, or socio-economic challenges. • Track attendance and follow-up processes. • Support and conduct assemblies, events, and other class engagements. • Participate in regular child-wise review process, identifying and tracking actions for both children and families. 2. Parent Engagement • Conduct individual meetings and home visits with parents and caregivers on a regular basis • Build strong parent relationships to ensure consistent involvement in the child’s learning journey. • Design and implement Parent Engagement activities including: - Individual PTMs - - Group PTMs Parent circles / workshops on specific themes - Vision-building discussions that supports child’s long-term educational and goals • Support families facing challenges related to education, wellbeing, or financial stress. • Maintain clear documentation, trackers, and follow-up records for agreed actions 3. Teacher Engagement • Work with teachers to strengthen child-wise engagement through training and one-on-one support. • Provide basic training and on the job support to teachers on life skills and class teacher responsibilities. • Hold regular one-to-one meetings with teachers to review children’s progress and agreed upon actions. • Contribute to teacher-wise and class-wise review processes with concrete observations and suggestions. 4. Programme-Level Responsibilities • Participate in planning and review processes across School Programme and After School Support Programme. • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders - with counsellors, teachers, centre heads and other team members - to build a safe, motivating, and growth-oriented environment for children and families. • Help maintain a culture of positive reinforcement, empathy, and holistic development for students, teachers, and parents. Required Qualifications & Competencies Must-Have Life Skills sessions • 4+ years of regular hands-on experience in direct work with children and parents, specifically in: - - - - Gender & Sexuality related educational sessions Exposure & Projects Ongoing work with families (beyond one-time mobilisation events) • Experience in listening to and supporting children and parents' one-to-one. A counselling qualification or training is an advantage, but this role goes beyond counselling alone. • Strong ability and willingness to engage with multiple age groups (children and adolescents). • Deep commitment to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement. • Ability to design positive, strengths-based reinforcement strategies for children and families. • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently, and attention to child-wise action plans. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook) and digital documentation. Preferable: • Experience in the education or development sector, especially with low-income communities. • Strong planning and documentation abilities. • Good command of English and Hindi, written and spoken. Other Requirements • Daily physical presence at assigned centre(s) (Monday–Saturday). • Some Saturdays may be non-working • Candidates with prior NGO experience or school-based experience will be given preference. • Candidates residing in Noida or nearby areas are preferred. • Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and social-sector norms.
