Project Brief:
PHFI in collaboration with Government of Sikkim is implementing the project “Codevelop, Implement and Evaluate a sustainable model for cancer prevention in Sikkim”. The core objective of the project is to co-develop, implement, and evaluate a statewide, evidence-based cancer prevention and early detection program that integrates life skills-based school interventions, behavior change campaigns in colleges, and community outreach activities to effectively promote healthy behaviors, enhance cancer literacy, and reduce modifiable cancer risk factors among school going adolescents, college youth, and communities in Sikkim.
Job Summary:
Stationed in Sikkim, serve as primary liaison with the State Health Department to ensure timely implementation of study activities across all six districts and sites, adhering to timelines and objectives
Deliverables:
The major duties and responsibilities will include:
• Facilitate coordination among investigators, local partners, health, and education departments for seamless communication.
• Conduct needs assessments to develop intervention packages and campaigns; compile and map relevant resources, guidelines, resources and National programme documents for the intervention development.
• Support organization of co-creation/validation workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Lead pilot-testing of interventions and campaign activities.
• Develop training packages, manuals, and resources for Master Trainers, State Resource Groups, HWAs, and HWMs.
• Monitor study sites regularly; conduct meetings with District Coordinators to track progress and ensure effective implementation across districts.
• Provide regular updates to the PI (Government of Sikkim) and develop minutes of all meetings
• Contribute to study reports and funding agency documentation under PI guidance.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor for the project/Division, as required.
Qualification:
Essential:
• First-class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with
• three years’ experience or PhD.
• Second-class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years’ experience.
• For Engineering/IT/CS-First Class Graduate degrees of Four Years with Five years’ experience.
Desirable:
• PhD in health or allied field.
• Handled a minimum of five projects relevant to the requirement as Principal Investigator or Co-PI.
Experience:
Essential:
• 3-5 years of experience in conducting Public Health Research or programme implementation.
Desirable:
• More than 5 years of experience in conducting Public Health Research.
Skills & Competencies:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in conducting trainings, meetings, and workshops.
